- Work alongside our Social Media Managers to assist with day-to-day social copywriting and publishing in our accounts voice and tone.
- Support our Social Media Managers in the development of the content calendar to ensure that our brand stays top of mind and consistent.
- Switch seamlessly between accounts managed, understand and effectively communicate following the differences in brand voice, tone and strategies between properties.
- Ideate with the content team to develop content that stays within brand guidelines
- Demonstrate sound judgment to curate, prioritize, and publish posts that are consistent with brand messaging, but also with an eye to expand and engage our audiences
- Assist in covering live events across multiple platforms and create in-the-moment content to generate engaging and timely content.
- Promote inclusivity, conversation and engagement on platforms by joining in relevant conversations and aligning with meaningful cultural trends.
- 1-2 years of relevant work experience
- Self-starter and a forward thinker with a desire to collaborate in a team-based culture
- Experience in copywriting for a sports team or league including live content coverage
- Knowledge of U.S. Soccer and the game as a whole
- Familiar with programs such as, Adobe Creative Cloud, AirTable and Slate
- Proficient experience with Microsoft Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook)
- Capable of working in fast-paced and demanding environments
- Must be able to connect “micro” details to the “macro” vision and mission
- Able and willing to work non-traditional hours including evenings and weekends as needed
- Discretion - this role will be privy to confidential information
- Spanish speaking is a plus

Position Description
U.S. Soccer is seeking a social media coordinator to create, support and copywrite for our U.S. Soccer properties.
Our content team aims to grow the sport of soccer by deepening fan engagement and elevating the profile of the U.S. Soccer Federation, its teams, and players.
The ideal candidate is a self-starter who is eager to create content, copywrite and fill out a content calendar. This role will support our social media managers across the multiple verticals we oversee from the Extended National Teams to our Senior Teams. We prioritize data-driven decisions to craft engaging, platform-specific content that supports our goals of deepening fan engagement, growing reach, increasing relevancy and driving revenue.
The role requires versatility, quick thinking, using data to make informed social decisions and the ability to work under pressure. There will be some travel required to select events and games as well as working out of our Atlanta offices.
Occasionally, the role will assist with other Federation programs, including Youth National Teams, Professional Leagues, Open Cup, Coaching, Refereeing, Membership, and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiatives.
