      Providing leadership to swim school staff and ensuring staff are trained and competent in delivering YMCA NSW Swimming lessons and squad programs.

      We have an exciting opportunity for a driven and focussed swimming professional to lead the successful Swim School team at Port Macquarie War Memorial Olympic Swimming Pool!


      About your new role


      The Swim School Coordinator leads and manages all aspects of aquatics programs including the YMCA NSW Swim School program, Schools Swimming lessons and assisting the teams at Laurieton and Kendall pools.

      The successful applicant will be required to have a firm knowledge and understanding of all aspects of the YMCA NSW Swim School program, educational trends and industry development.
      The position requires an energetic, motivated person who is not afraid to use their own ideas and initiative. To ensure we provide high quality lessons for the patrons, you will need to have strong communication skills and a commitment to providing our customers and parents the best possible level of customer service, education and enjoyment from the lessons.

      What you will need to have:

      • A passion for teaching swimming
      • Experience in managing and leading teams
      • Knowledge of budget & KPI management
      • Strong stakeholder management experience
      • Current First Aid & CPR
      • Swim Australia, Royal Life Teacher of Swiming and Water Safety (or equivilant)
      • Swim Teacher Assessor qualification (desirable)
      • Teacher of Infant and Preschool aquatics (desirable)
      • Working with Children Check

      Given the unique nature of the recreation industry, candidates must be flexible to meet the needs of the centre. This includes working some early mornings, late evenings, weekends and public holidays as required.

      Our Recreation Team is a close-knit community of energetic people-people, with a passion for staying active and helping others. From our Duty Managers and Customer Service Officers, to our Instructors and Coordinators, the team are responsible for transforming our 24 Recreation Centres into warm, inclusive and safe spaces – providing access to health, fitness and recreation opportunities for those who need it most.
