Job Description
- Req#: 181355
- Execute the daily inbound transportation plan with the Sobeys fleet or 3PL carriers.
- Monitors the movement of goods to ensure on-time arrival, coordinating with customs, and recording issues that impact KPIs.
- Accurately maintain the freight conditions in SAP, TMS, and I-Trade.
- Utilize TMS and P44 utilization to monitor all shipments and actively adjust network to prevent late loads.
- Perform the supplier components of backhaul management and ensure we are effectively utilizing the Sobeys fleet and influencing both cost and service on a daily basis.
- Perform shipment optimization with the RSC’s and Replenishment teams so that 3pl loads are effectively cubed and routed.
- After hours & week-end rotations as required
- RSC dispatch office for backhaul operations.
- National Transportation for routing guide implementation.
- Replenishment for order optimization and supplier performance challenges.
- Quality Control and RSC receiving for investigation of claims related to shortages, damages and poor quality.
- Experience within large retailers, Distribution Centre and Warehouse operations- preferred
- Experience using current logistics technology as it applies to transportation management (TMS, P44) & SAP-preferred
- 2 years of experience in inventory control, transportation/ supply chain experience including international freight experience
- Relevant designation/ credentials in logistics, supply chain, and/ or transportation (P.Log, CITT, CPIM or PMAC, ERP) is preferred

We currently have an opportunity for a Coordinator Transportation (181355) to join our National Transportation department based out of one of our office in Calgary - AB. In this role you will coordinate the Inbound Transportation activities for GFMD and Produce vendors as effectively as a best-in-class common carrier from a performance and cost management perspective. This would include backhaul coordination and 3PL carriers.
Note: This role requires flexibility for scheduling, including; day/night/weekend rotation shifts up to 10:00pm MST.
