Job Description
The Virginia Cooperative Extension Collaborative Opioid Prevention Education (COPE) Educator will work with state agencies and community-based organizations, including jails, prisons, group homes, foster care, social services, schools, and community members, to expand the Mental Health First Aid and Botvin Lifeskills® Training suite and other evidence-based programs and communicate resources available under COPE.
This is a part-time position. The educator will clock in for hours worked, up to 24 hours per week. Hourly rate will be commensurate with training and experience.
This position will require travel within Virginia. Mileage and other approved travel costs will be reimbursed.Required Qualifications
• Lived and/or professional experience related to substance misuse and addiction
• Experience working with communities and stakeholders in community-based projectsPreferred Qualifications
• Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience in community health, public health or related field
• Training and experience in implementing Botvin LifeSkills® Parent Program, Transitions Program, and ACEs workshopsPay Band
