- Collect and enter all required PEIMS data from district campuses, including student enrollment, attendance, leaver information, discipline, special program participation, staff data, and course offerings.
- Coordinate and oversee the timely and accurate submission of PEIMS data for all mandated submissions (Fall, Mid-Year, Summer, Extended Year, Core Collections).
- Work closely with director of PEIMS, PEIMS Manager, campus registrars, ARD/PEIMS clerks, counselors, special programs coordinators, and HR staff to ensure accurate data collection and entry.
- Audit data for accuracy, resolve discrepancies, and maintain data integrity across all reporting systems.
- Assist in training and supporting district and campus personnel on PEIMS-related procedures, coding requirements, and software systems (e.g., Skyward, Ascender, or other SIS platforms).
- Maintain knowledge of current TEA requirements, PEIMS Data Standards, and changes in legislation that impact data reporting.
- Communicate with TEA and ESC (Education Service Center) staff to ensure compliance and stay updated on reporting expectations.
- Prepare and generate reports as needed for district administration, audits, or compliance monitoring.
- Serve as contact for PEIMS data and reporting-related inquiries.
- Assist with the parent portal system, supporting the registrars with student enrollment processes and troubleshooting system-related issues.
- High school diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
- PEIMS or TSDS certification preferred (if applicable).
- Minimum 3 years of experience in school data entry, student information systems, or PEIMS reporting.
- Experience with Texas public school systems and TEA data reporting preferred.
- Experience with Ascender preferred.
- Strong knowledge of PEIMS Data Standards and TEA reporting requirements.
- Proficient in the use of student information systems (SIS) and PEIMS software (e.g., TSDS, Skyward, Ascender).
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Attention to detail and strong data auditing skills.
- Effective communication and training skills.
- Pre-K experience is preferred.
- Work may be performed in a remote office environment.
- Occasional district-wide travel may be required.
- Occasional overtime during critical submission periods.
- Must be able to meet tight deadlines and handle multiple priorities.
PEIMS Coordinator

Work Days: 220 daysPrimary Purpose:
The PEIMS Coordinator is responsible for collecting, managing, and auditing all PEIMS data for the Texas Education Agency (TEA) in a timely and accurate manner. This includes student demographic information, attendance, special programs, staff data, and course scheduling. The coordinator ensures compliance with TEA reporting requirements and supports campus and district staff in maintaining data integrity.
