      General Summary

      Monitor point of sales transactions for accuracy and work with locations to resolve any issues as they arise across both our Company Owned Locations and our Member Cooperatives. Analyze margin and expenses. Prepare and record journal entries to ensure accurate financial statements. Prepare monthly account reconciliations.

      Essential Job Functions

      • Review/audit point of sale transactions to identify issues and take corrective actions across sales, margins, inventory and certain expenses.

      • Monitor, research and resolve differences in purchase order matching outside of system tolerances on a timely basis.

      • Review clearing accounts and follow up with appropriate operations personnel as necessary to resolve aged outstanding items.

      • Analyze margins and expenses for reasonableness on a monthly basis using system-generated reports. Investigate out of tolerance and unusual variances.

      • Make appropriate journal entries to complete the monthly financial close process on a timely basis.

      • Prepare timely and accurate account reconciliations on a monthly basis.

      • Assist with inquiries from internal and external auditors.

      • Assist store personnel in using, researching and resolving issues in our point of sale system.

      • Assist in preparation of budgets.

      • Maintain current knowledge of related accounting and point of sale operating procedures.

      • Perform other duties as assigned.

      SCOPE : Works with store operations, corporate management, auditors as well as other accounting departments. Responsible for the accurate and timely audit and financial close of retail and member coop locations.

      Qualifications

      Qualifications

      A minimum 2-year associate's degree in accounting, finance, or business. Retail accounting experience preferred. Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills. Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
