      The Corporate Banking Internship offers a hands-on learning experience with rotations in Commercial & Private Banking, Credit and Wealth Management. Under the guidance of experienced professionals, you will learn the fundamental disciplines of the banking industry.

      The summer internship will begin approximately June 3, 2024 and lasts for 10-12 weeks (flexible with student schedule).

      Interns will gain the following experience:

      • Learn and understand the Alerus credit approach and underwriting process.
      • Learn and understand the Alerus lending cycle and wide range of banking products.
      • Observe how new business is generated through referrals, prospecting, and networking.
      • Understand wealth prospecting, financial planning, onboarding, and ongoing client engagement.
      • Complete eMoney Financial Planning training and gain practical financial planning knowledge.
      • Prepare a mock financial plan recommendation to present to the internal team.
      • Shadow other departments to develop a holistic understanding of the banking industry.

      Qualifications:

      • Student pursuing undergrad degree with anticipated graduation date between December 2024 - June 2025.
      • Strong interest in business and finance, though no specific major is required.

      Personal Characteristics:

      • Excellent time management skills with ability to handle multiple priorities.
      • Strong interpersonal communication skills.
      • Ability to effectively transfer knowledge and information to practical use.
      • Energetic and proactive.
      • Ability to work independently and with a highly collaborative team.
