      The Corporate Controller will be responsible for direct management of all accounting functions. The role will be full scope controllership, leading a team responsible for the gl, transactional accounting, and the integrity of financials.

      Primary areas of responsibilities include the general ledger, accounts payable, Purchasing, Treasury, and Tax.

      POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

      • Create and maintain processes, documentation, and accounting procedures fundamental to month-end reporting
      • Ownership of internal controls and ensuring they are effective and operating (Treasury, Procure to Pay, GL account reconciliations, etc.)
      • Ability to interpret contracts and translate into accounting recognition policies in accordance with GAAP
      • Lead the month-end close process in a timely manner. Including but not limited to review and posting of JEs, work paper review / GL account reconciliations, communication with P&L owners, etc.
      • Maintenance and record keeping of Fixed Assets and Leases in accordance with ASC 842
      • Oversee the federal and state tax preparation with 3rd party consultants
      • Compliance with all financial and tax reporting requirements/guidelines
      • Coordination and execution of year-end financial audit
      • Lead and develop a high performing team focused on creating value for their respective business partners within the organization
      • Establish performance measures for the accounting functions, and ensure that the most effective resources, systems, and policies are in place to achieve the targets on a consistent basis
      • Ensure that the accounting functions operate efficiently and effectively, and strictly enforce the underlying management policies
      • Continue to move the organization up the curve when it comes to use of technology/systems/tools to become more efficient

      POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

      • Candidate must have an ownership mindset and take responsibility over projects/processes
      • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
      • Preference will be given to candidates with a CPA and/or MBA
      • 10+ years previous Corporate Controller or VP of Accounting experience with a middle-market company
      • Highly skilled in process improvement and willing to make change
      • Experience in successfully leading, and completing, multiple financial audits
      • Ability to complete the monthly close process (month-end close process checklist and deadlines, JE review, reconciliations, 3-statement review, etc.)
      • Experience in the Logistics industry is preferred
      • Experience with SAP Business One and LeaseQuery is preferred
      • Knowledge of ASC 842 implementation and adoption is preferred
      • Experience in 13-week Cash Flow Forecasting is preferred
      • Experience in Insurance reporting (schedule of values, COIs, etc.) and annual carrier renewals is preferred
      • Has a desire to understand more than just immediate areas of responsibilities
      • Ability to work cross-functionally, lead teams, and present to leadership team
      • Excellent energy and enthusiasm and a desire to build versus manage
      • Travel is estimated between 5% to 15%
      • This position will be 100% remote but high preference will be given to candidates in Central or Eastern Time Zone.
