      Business Managers optimize business performance by helping to drive key initiatives. They act as a trusted advisor and counterweight to Business/Group Heads and are responsible for identifying, escalating, and mitigating business risks. The role of a business manager is dynamic and can vary from business to business, depending on priorities.

      This role will provide a candidate with the opportunity to gain insight into Finance, Risk, Compliance and Controls, as well as lead and be instrumental in various strategic initiatives. The business management support will span across two organizations: Bank Controller, Accounting Policy and Reporting and Firmwide Finance Business Architecture.

      The Bank Controller, Accounting Policy and Reporting organization consists of the Bank Controllers, Corporate Accounting Policy and Reporting teams.

      • The Bank Controllers team is responsible for the Legal Entity Controller (LEC) functions for JPMorgan Chase Bank N.A. (Lead Bank), JPMorgan Chase & Co (Parent Co) and JPMorgan Chase Holdings LLC (JPMCH), including on-going capital monitoring and adequacy. The group is also accountable for the Firmwide Legal Entity (LE) strategy and simplification agenda, and for managing the Firmwide LE reorganizations & capital actions (RCA policy), affiliate support documents (ASD policy) and Reg W governance.
      • The Accounting policy team establishes global accounting and disclosure policies for the Firm and provides guidance on the accounting and disclosure of complex and judgmental accounting matters.
      • The Reporting team consists of SEC reporting and the QRC function. The SEC Reporting team is responsible for the compilation, review, and filing of the Firm's consolidated quarterly and annual financial statements and supplemental information for the quarterly Earnings Release with the SEC. The QRC function is responsible for quality reviews of various JPMorgan Chase's external financial reports and presentations, including earnings material and the Annual Report and proxy.

      Firmwide Finance Business Architecture provides a centralized program management and business analysis capability, targeted program governance, and consistent application of program management standards including system testing and change management practices, with a current focus on:

      • Overseeing the Data Acquisition framework for strategic and legacy Finance, T/CIO, and Wholesale Credit Risk platforms
      • Deployment of the Finance Reporting Infrastructure (FRI) for regulatory and management reporting; and oversight of the Chief Data Office (CDO) for Finance and T/CIO.
      • Oversight for stand-alone projects on behalf of the Controllers organization (e.g. Brexit, CUSA merger, CECL Reg W, Location Strategy).

      Job responsibilities:

      • Manage and analyze team financials and headcount including contributing to budget, multi-year forecast and business reviews
      • Organize All Hands / Townhall meetings to proactively manage timely and proper communications within the team on initiatives and key deliverables
      • Prepare executive presentations and provide internal coordination on cross team deliverables including ad-hoc project management support
      • Active participant in leading the control agenda to ensure an effective control framework is implemented and executed. (e.g., Business resiliency planning, inter-affiliate services requirements)
      • Build and maintain effective relationships within the team, and with key stakeholders, including other business management teams, line of business and regional controllers, Internal Audit, Finance Control Management and Program Management teams
      • Track progress against priorities, including midyear and end of year summaries capturing the team’s accomplishments
      • Contribute to the idea creation and organization of People agenda and DE&I initiatives executed by the teams

      Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

      • Ability to deliver timely, high quality presentations and reporting for various projects and stakeholders
      • Attention to detail is a must with continuous focus on design excellence
      • Demonstrated ability in dealing with different stakeholder groups and driving the agenda
      • Intermediate to advanced level ability expected in MS Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
      • Self-motivated and able to work with a high degree of independence
      • Excellent written and oral communication skills
      • Strong time management and prioritization skills

      Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

      • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or other related area
      • Previous Business Management or COO experience
