      Position Overview

      The Corporate Counsel provides strategic legal guidance and ensures compliance with laws and regulations. This role is pivotal in safeguarding Dutch Bros' legal interests, managing risk, and fostering a culture of ethics and compliance. The Corporate Counsel works closely with the Chief Legal Officer, Executive leadership, the Board of Directors, and various departments to drive sound legal decision-making and protect the organization's reputation.


      Key Result Areas (KRAs)

      Strategic Legal Guidance and Compliance:

      • Develop short- and long-term strategies impacting the organization's legal function

      • Ensure organizational operations and practices are in compliance with applicable laws and regulations at all times

      • Recommend changes to organizational policies or procedures to minimize legal risks

      Legal Advisory and Representation:

      • Provide legal advice and counsel to the organization

      • Represent the organization in legal proceedings

      • Oversee the preparation of legal documents and potentially coordinate legal efforts with outside counsel

      Leadership and Management:

      • Lead and direct the work of other employees, including hiring, performance management, and termination

      • Collaborate with other members of the executive management team to align departmental strategy with the overall organization's goals

      • Develop policies, practices, and procedures that have a significant impact on the organization

      Job Qualifications

      • A Juris Doctor (JD) and an applicable state license to practice law, required

      • A minimum of 11 years of post-law school legal experience, required

      • A combination of law firm and in-house experience preferred

      • Demonstrated ability to manage a large corporate or centralized institutional legal office successfully

      • Experience developing and driving improved systems and processes

      • Superior business acumen and judgment; ability to balance business and legal risks

      • Knowledge of the areas of law affecting a public company in the consumer food and beverage space, including but not limited to corporate securities, contracting, intellectual property protection, real estate transactions, food and beverage regulations, franchising, employment regulations and practice, and insurance portfolio management

      • Knowledge of food and beverage industry legal resources; QSR experience preferred

      * Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as calculators, copy machines, computers, and office equipment

      $298,974.07 - $346,592.89
