Attend cross-functional meetings .
Co llaborate on and complete special projects .
Assist with ideating, strategizing, and developing cross-functional initiatives.
Monitor and analyze relevant ESG reporting trends, KPIs, and best practices.
Draft communication items related to corporate citizenship projects and initiatives.
Participate in event planning, speech and presentation preparation, and escorting external visitors.
Assist with strategic communications planning in the areas the Corporate Citizenship Team supports including Environmental Sustainability; Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, Corporate Responsibility (community, giving, etc.)
Provide support for Southwest Airlines giving, programming and volunteerism activities and associated events
Support in communications content generation for internal and external channels
Support in the creation and development of Team assets/resources
Perform topical research and gather necessary reports and data to inform giving, programming and volunteerism strategies
Support administrative procedures, such as data entry, promotional supply inventory and management
May perform other job duties as directed by Corporate Responsibility Team
Complete capstone project on behalf of the Corporate Responsibility Team
Helping with the design, development, and coordination of initiatives in support of achieving Crew Scheduling Engagement Strategy Plan; analyzing Employee feedback and data to glean insights; helping identify potential solutions to mitigate Crew Scheduling Employee pain points or drive engagement; collaborating with peers and Leaders to develop and execute solutions to improve the Employee experience
Assist with obtaining strong Employee sentiment through a variety of methods (i.e., focus groups, surveys, brainstorming sessions, other research methods), synthesize the results, and apply insights to work deliverables or Team projects
Assist with internal communications by identifying opportunities to share Employee stories that highlight moments along the Employee Journey and inspire Employee engagement
Conduct external research to better understand Employee experience needs and trends
Assist with the planning and executing of large D epartment engagement events (meetings, department appreciation efforts, parties, etc.); work with Internal and External vendors to help with logistics ; write communications and design visuals for internal use
Assist with Crew Scheduling Communications by drafting and curating content for the Department including internal messages, intranet, internal publications and social channels. Manage content on department SharePoint page including monitoring and responding to requests and inquiries in a timely manner and addressing escalated content. Collaborate across the Department to discover and promote relevant Employee stories for department publications including weekly news series and monthly department newsletter.
Assist with other special projects relating to Crew Scheduling Engagement & Communication as needed
Assist with Culture and Recognition projects and programs. Duties include: Helping to assess the success of current recognition programs and efforts; analyzing employee data, identifying areas of improvement and creating an optimization strategy, and preparing and presenting presentations to stakeholders.
Assist with the planning and execution of appreciation events for our Employees in various cities; and help measure various statistics for the Culture Department .
Assist with Culture events. Duties include: Assist with the planning and executing of large Employee events (meetings, rallies, parties, etc.); help with ordering, assembling, and shipping supplies; write blog posts and design visuals for internal use; work with outside vendors to order promotional items; work with hotels and venues to secure rooms, meeting spaces, and food .
Assist with Culture Communications. Manage content on Culture social media channels including monitoring membership requests, responding to inquiries and posts in a timely manner , and addressing escalated content. Collaborate across the Department to discover and promote relevant stories of Southwest achievement within the context of the mission and vision of the Company. Assist with internal communications by drafting and curating content for Southwest communications channels including blogs, intranet, internal publications, and social channels .

Assist with obtaining Voice of Employee through a variety of methods (i.e., focus groups, surveys, brainstorming sessions, other research methods), synthesize the results, and apply insights to work deliverables or Team projects
Help develop and refine Employee experience artifacts and tools to add value to our internal Customers (personas, dashboards, presentations, quick reference guides/job aids)
Assist with internal communications by identifying opportunities to share Employee stories that highlight moments along the Employee Journey and inspire Employee engagement
Conduct external research to better understand Employee experience needs and trends
Apply strategic thinking to identify opportunities for improvement and increase the visibility and engagement of Employee Experience offerings across the Company
Assist with other special projects relating to Employee Experience as needed
Supports the identification and analysis of trends and extracts meaningful information to measure and support Southwest corporate Hospitality initiatives .
Distills qualitative and quantitative data down to easily understood, presentable, and actionable findings .
Derives themes from analysis to effectively inform business partners of Hospitality opportunities for improvement .
Assists the Hospitality Operations Support Team in organizing events, meetings and initiatives designed to promote and improve Hospitality Companywide and across multiple departments .
May develop written and visual communication relating to Hospitality that is shared Companywide .
Present with impact and assist lead ing meetings across multiple Departments and levels of Leadership .
Willingness to travel as needed.
Join Southwest as a S ummer 202 4 Intern, with a 12-week internship lasting from May 21 to August 9 , 2024 .
Work onsite at our Corporate Campus in Dallas, TX.
Workplace flexibility for 50% of the time is typically available, but interns are expected to be onsite for Intern- related events .
Dedicate 40 hours each week to your internship responsibilities and tasks.
Receive hourly pay of $22 and receive a one-time $1,000 stipend on your first paycheck .
Receive free, unlimited space available travel privileges for yourself (taxes and fees may apply on international travel) .
Interns will be provided any required equipment, such as a laptop, for the internship.
High School Diploma, GED or equivalent education required .
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Must have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986.
You must have a valid U.S. Social Security Number to complete the full hiring process.
Progress towards a degree in Business, Communications, Environmental Sciences, E n vironmental Sustain ability, Event Planning, Hospitality , Industrial and Organizational Psychology, Marketing, Non-Profit Management, Organizational Development, Political Science, Public Affairs , Public Relations, Social Impact , or similar degree required .
Minimum Sophomore status. May not have an undergraduate graduation date of May 2024 or prior, unless already enrolled in a full-time graduate degree program at time of application.
To be eligible you must be currently enrolled as a full-time student as defined by your university at the time of application.
Maintained 2.5 or above cumulative GPA at the time of application.
Previous writing experience (ex: school newsletter, business, creative) preferred .
Previous event planning experience preferred. Previous event follow-up experience (ex: post-event surveys) is a plus.
Experience in analyzing, making inferences, and presenting large amounts of qualitative and quantitative survey data desire d .
Experience with market research , survey creation , and interpretation is preferred .
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel) is required .
Canva and/or Adobe Design experience is a plus.
Experience with Share P oint and Microsoft Teams is a plus.
Previous C ustomer service or hospitality experience is preferred.
Previous Leadership experience preferred .
Knowledge of media production, communication, and dissemination techniques and methods, including alternative ways to inform and entertain via written, oral, and visual media
Outstanding oral presentation and written communication skills required . Ability to proofread and correct errors with minimal supervision is a plus.
Ability to be creative, forward thinking, and display a passion for serving our internal and external Customers with outstanding Hospitality.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to coordinate multiple tasks and complete assignments with tight deadlines.
Ability to handle a high level of responsibility and maintain confidential information .
Ability to identify areas of opportunity, create a plan for improvement, and implement.

Required: Full-time 40hrs per week
Must maintain a consistent weekly schedule during normal business hours at a max of 8 hours per day
You must reside in Dallas, TX during the internship and work a hybrid schedule of at least 50% in office and be onside for applicable intern events.

Corporate Citizenship Intern
Southwest Airlines Corporate Citizenship is focused on corporate citizenship, environmental sustainability, and corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities at Southwest. Engages both internal and external C ustomers to reduce our environmental footprint, increase efficiency and effectiveness of our environmental, social and governance work, and enhance our social impact. This internship provides the opportunity to participate in the development of Southwest Airlines’ renowned One Report (an integrated, holistic corporate responsibility report), and participate in reputation management activities.
