      PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

      Continually improve the organization’s ability to perform and meet its business objectives by providing a solid foundation in Human Resources leadership and guidance to the Corporate Offices and other facilities through HR project and process management.

      ESSENTIAL POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

      Provides sound advice and considerations relating to employee issues. Assists management in making recommendations based on company policies and employment laws; drive compliance and consistency throughout the locations by interpreting company policies and procedures; utilizes a broad knowledge in change management and communication, employee relations, and labor law.

      Maintains up to date policies and procedures and HR forms. Ensures that all policies and procedures and forms associated with those policies are reviewed regularly and remain current.

      Conducts new hire process for Corporate Offices . Completes onboarding and orientation in accordance with the appropriate programs.

      Assists the Human Resources team as needed concerning HR related issues, projects, plans, policies, EEOC charges and other related duties. Ensures human resources practices are value-added. Maintains open communication with operations HR teams.

      Performs a variety of general Human Resources activities. Communicates with Human Resources in regard to policies and procedures, employee relations and assists in maintaining the Human Resources Program according to state, federal and company policies.

      Participates as a member of the Team . Participates in the ongoing development, communication and implementation of team concepts, programs and policies; coordinates work to ensure best practices with all team members. Attends appropriate team meetings. As a member of the Team, fosters strong cohesiveness regarding all major issues; e.g., direction, annual plan, budget, policy changes, etc. Accepts responsibility to quickly identify any areas that lack cohesiveness, bringing them to the attention of the team leader and working with the team in a supportive manner to resolve issues and actively look for ways, and reinforce actions needed, to achieve synergy possible within the larger organization.

      Simmons Operating systems principles and objectives: Is familiar with Simmons’ established operating systems (e.g. quality, security, office environment, company policies, LEAN); understands the responsibility to maintain familiarity with the systems and this position’s role in support of these systems - including a consideration of the impact of individual actions on the systems and the responsibility to communicate concerns and improvement ideas.

      Physical Activities: Enters and locates information on a computer. Visually verifies information, often in small print. Communicates with Customers, Vendors, or Employees via telephone, in person, and/or electronic mail. May present information to small or large groups. Must be able to work in various temperatures. Move about in a manufacturing environment and surrounding property.

      Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) : As required by visiting location.

      Technical Experience: 3-5 years’ experience in Human Resources Management, preference for direct experience with executives and higher leadership. Must have broad knowledge in change management, employee relations, and labor laws. Proficient in Microsoft Suite and any other office equipment as needed or required.

      Industry Experience: Preference for food processing organization.

      Minimum Education : Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business or 4 years related experience in Human Resources.

      Preferred Education : SPHR/PHR/GPHR Certification.
