      What You’ll Do:

      Works under general supervision & requires considerable knowledge of criminal justice or Ohio’s adult rehabilitation & correction system in order to act for Warden by serving as institution’s STG Coordinator gathering intelligence:

      Conducts initial and ongoing interviews to determine inmate classification levels to identify gang affiliation (e.g., passive, active and disruptive).

      • Responds to possible STG incidents and informs Warden and staff of findings concerning STG activity.

      • Creates and maintains inmate records in DOTS Portal as it relates to gang activity (e.g., film, pictures, updated classification levels). Implements & enforces STG policies & procedures

      • Serves as administrative liaison between Warden, Operation support Center (OSC), STG Administrator, Legal Services and Bureau of Classification and staff.

      • Coordinates activities with Bureau of Classification (e.g., notifications of inmate activity to determine appropriate actions).

      • Serves as institutions STG Committee Chairperson and conducts monthly meetings to discuss STG activity.

      • Provides training and technical support for security staff.

      • Researches and responds to inquires and complaints from general public and outside agencies.

      • Prepares reports, maintains and audits records according to department standards.

      • Serves on institutional committees

      • Assists in staff development and training

      • Assists with investigations

      • Conducts site visits

      • Acts as duty officer as assigned

      • Performs other duties as assigned

      The Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction is a tobacco-free workplace.

      Pre-Employment Drug Testing:

      The final applicant selected for this position will be required to submit to urinalysis prior to an appointment to test for illegal drug use. The State will decline to extend a final offer of employment to any applicant with a verified positive test result. Also, an applicant with a positive test result will not be considered for any position with the State of Ohio for a period of one year. "Not applicable to current state employees".

      This position may be subject to Federal Alcohol.
