      FLSA Status: Non-Exempt/Hourly.

      Pay: $29/hr.

      Travel Requirement: Yes.

      ***This role is based in a remote part of southern central Florida. All personnel will be required to live on-site, and meals and housing will be provided. Flights provided!**

      Position Overview: We are seeking highly experienced, vigilant, and professional Correctional Supervisors to lead and manage a team of Correctional Officers, ensuring the highest standards of safety, security, and order within the facility. In this critical leadership role, you will be responsible for the direct oversight of daily operations, staff training and development, and the consistent enforcement of all established regulations and protocols. You will play a pivotal role in maintaining a secure and orderly environment for all facility occupants, contributing significantly to the overall security framework. This position demands exceptional leadership, strategic problem-solving skills, and a steadfast commitment to institutional safety and operational excellence.

      Responsibilities:

      • Direct and oversee the daily activities of Correctional Officers, ensuring adherence to all security protocols, policies, and procedures.
      • Conduct regular inspections of facility perimeters, buildings, grounds, and access points to identify and address potential security vulnerabilities.
      • Supervise and manage access control procedures, ensuring strict compliance for all personnel, visitors, and deliveries.
      • Oversee the operation, monitoring, and troubleshooting of advanced security equipment, including surveillance cameras, access control systems, and communication devices, ensuring prompt reporting and resolution of any issues.
      • Lead and coordinate effective responses to emergencies, disturbances, or security breaches, implementing established protocols for incident management, de-escalation, and resolution.
      • Ensure the thorough and compliant execution of searches for vehicles, packages, and individuals entering or exiting the facility, providing guidance and corrective action as needed.
      • Direct and manage the safe and orderly movement of individuals within the facility, maintaining constant vigilance and strict adherence to established procedures.
      • Review, approve, and ensure the accuracy and completeness of detailed reports on incidents, observations, and daily security activities prepared by Correctional Officers.
      • Foster and lead a collaborative environment among correctional staff, liaising effectively with other departments and supervisory personnel to enhance overall facility security and operational efficiency.
      • Provide ongoing training, mentorship, and performance evaluations for Correctional Officers, identifying areas for improvement and professional development.
      • Assist in the development, implementation, and enforcement of new security policies and procedures.
      • Manage shift schedules, assignments, and resource allocation to ensure adequate staffing levels and operational coverage.

      Qualifications:

      • Associate’s degree in criminal justice, Corrections, or a related field preferred; High School Diploma or equivalent required.
      • Must possess a valid Correctional Officer or equivalent certification, with advanced supervisory training or certifications highly desirable.
      • Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of experience as a Correctional Officer or similar role, with at least one (1) year in a supervisory or lead capacity
      • Must be at least 18 years of age.
      • Clean criminal record and ability to pass a comprehensive background check.
      • Ability to pass a drug screening.
      • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively motivate and manage a team.
      • Proven ability to make sound decisions and remain calm and effective under pressure and in high-stress, critical situations.
      • Comprehensive understanding of correctional security protocols, institutional policies, and relevant legal regulations.
      • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex operational challenges.
      • Proficiency in report writing and record-keeping, with attention to detail.
      • Ability to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, and respond to call-ins as needed.

      Work Environment:

      Employees may be exposed to extreme cold or hot weather conditions, fumes, or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and loud noise.

      Physical Requirements:

      Employees may be required to remain in a stationary position, stand, push, pull, climb, kneel, crawl, balance, squat, bend, and reach during shifts. Employees may be also required to use gear to move items around, including, but not limited to, carts and dollies. Employees may also be occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 49 pounds.
