      GEODynamics is looking for qualified candidates for Cost Accountant. This position requires the ability to work at our Millsap facility on the frontage road to Interstate 20 near Millsap, TX with occasional travel to work at our Benbrook facility located at Interstate 20 and Winscott in Benbrook, TX.

      Key Accountabilities

      • Production work order control, inventory control, analysis of product costs, variance reporting, G/L and month end closing.
      • Accounting lead to coordinate & conduct annual physical inventory, resolve major discrepancies, and reconcile monthly and year-end inventory balances.
      • Initiate quarterly physical inventory adjustments.
      • Establish and maintain Standard Costs to support inventory value.
      • Review and analyze inventory transactions to ensure proper postings to inventory. Facilitate the inventory movement between inventory locations.
      • Clear suspense accounts and reconcile perpetual inventory against general ledger
      • Perform monthly reconciliation of fixed assets.
      • Review and close old intercompany transfer orders and work orders
      • Make estimates of new product or service costs.
      • Issue and accurately complete costs for products shipped and services delivered. Review for missing material or labor costs.
      • Estimate all outstanding material and labor costs on existing product shipments.
      • Review completed work orders. Research and report major variances.
      • Plan, study and collect data to determine cost of business activity such as raw material purchases, inventory and labor.
      • Analyze changes in product design, raw materials, manufacturing methods, or services provided to determine effects on costs. Look for opportunities to lower cost and improve efficiency.
      • Analyze actual manufacturing costs and prepares periodic report comparing standard costs to actual production costs.
      • Provide management with reports specifying and comparing factors affecting prices and profitability of products or services.
      • Work with internal and external auditors in providing documentation and review of procedures and internal controls.
      • Develop proficiency in the ERP system and become a key resource in responding to system related questions and offering effective solutions.
      • Run and modify ad-hoc reports within current financial systems
      • Review department costs and analyze trends and variances.
      • Review excess and obsolete inventory. Work with management to determine reserves.
      • Other duties as assigned including but not limited to journal entries and lease accounting

      Qualifications, Experience, Skills/Knowledge

      • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business related field.
      • At least two years of manufacturing and cost accounting experience, preferably in plant environment.
      • Self-motivated, able to work independently, organized, and detail oriented.
      • Effectively work cross functionally with leadership across the plant and other business units
      • Knowledge of revenue recognition standards ASC 606.
      • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office Applications - Excel, Access and Word.
      • Experience with working in a large ERP system like Oracle or SAP. Experience working with Glovia a plus.
      • Excellent written and verbal skills to communicate cost and financial information across the business.
      • Effectively manage multiple tasks at one time. Prioritize and meet all deadlines
      • Use of a computer, phone and other office equipment, including copier/scanner, etc.
      • Prolonged sitting.
      • Occasional walking, reaching, standing and bending.
      • Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling objects up to 10 pounds without assistance.
