  Job Overview

  Harbinger Motors are looking for an experienced Cost Accounting Manager with a strong accounting background in cost accounting and inventory management. This role will be responsible for accounting and reporting for accurate cost of goods sold (COGS) and inventory valuation, ideally building automated processes in NetSuite. This role requires advanced analytical skills, extensive experience in cost accounting, and the ability to develop and implement effective inventory management systems.

  What You'll Do:

  1. Execute monthly closing tasks, including preparing journal entries, performing reconciliations, and conducting variance analyses.
  2. Responsible for end-to-end inventory processes, costing and valuations.
  3. Reconcile COGS, propose and maintain Standard Cost.
  4. Collaborate with Accounts Payable, Production, Operations, Engineering and Logistics departments to ensure accurate recording of inventory data.
  5. Manage inventory cycle count program.
  6. Prepare and maintain monthly inventory roll-forwards and reserves.
  7. Analyze and explain monthly gross margin variances and purchase price variances (PPV).
  8. Assist with the financial audits and provide recommendations for procedural improvements to ensure accounting procedures and reporting conform to generally accepted accounting principles.
  9. Maintain correspondence with warehouse and production teams and establish proper inventory procedures.
  10. Assist with various special projects as required.

  Who You Are:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business with an emphasis in Accounting.
  2. 5+ years of relevant accounting experience.
  3. CPA/CPA Eligibility preferred, but not required.
  4. Proven experience in establishing and maintaining standard costing systems, overhead allocation methods, and inventory reconciliation processes.
  5. Highly organized and detail-oriented, capable of managing multiple projects with tight deadlines.
  6. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  7. Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  8. Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and ERP/MRP systems.
