      How you'll make a difference:

      The Cost Accounting Manager will oversee all cost accounting activities for our manufacturing site. This includes supervision of staff performing monthly journal entries, account reconciliations, and inventory E&O reserve analysis. This position will be accountable for managing month end close general ledger activities, maintaining standard costs, and assisting with budgeting and forecasting for inventory, fixed assets, overhead spending, and Other Cost of Goods Sold. This role is also responsible for maintaining and documenting SOX internal control evidence relating to inventory, cycle counting, and month end close processes

      Your key responsibilities:

      • Develop and mentor cost accounting team
      • Promote a culture of collaboration and accountability to internal and external customers
      • Prepare and/or review monthly journal entries and account reconciliations for inventory and cost of goods sold accounts
      • Perform quarterly inventory reserve analysis, including Orthobiologics product expiration risks, E&O reserves, and WIP scrap accruals.
      • Complete assigned areas of monthly financial reporting packages, budget vs actual commentary, and monthly reporting of key site operations metrics
      • Understand Bill of Materials and Router structures for manufactured products and work with Engineering and Operations to ensure system cost rollups are accurate
      • Provide analytical commentary on manufacturing variances, purchase price variances, overhead spending variances, and non-standard cost of goods sold expenses, including scrap and cycle count adjustments
      • Oversee cycle counting programs to ensure adequate coverage, counts are being properly recorded, and variances are investigated and resolved on a timely basis
      • Execute and document internal controls and reviews over inventory and gross margin reporting including cost of goods sold, scrapped material, purchase price variances, standard cost changes, excess & obsolete and shrink reserves, cost closing process, inventory revaluation, monthly inventory reconciliations, manufacturing variances
      • Maintain standard costs for Orthobiologics products and provide preliminary costs on product in development
      • Calculate standard labor and overhead rates annually
      • Calculate inputs for Other COGS, manufacturing spending, manufacturing variances for the annual budget and periodic reforecasting processes
      • Drive compliance with company policies and procedures and SOX internal controls
      • Support site leadership and act as liaison with Corporate Finance team
      • Support internal and external audits during quarterly reviews and annual audits
      • Interface successfully with other peer groups to achieve common goals and objectives.
      • Work on special projects as needed.

      Who you are:

      • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related business field required.
      • +7 years of Operations/Manufacturing accounting including +2 years managing/leading a team
      • Strong Microsoft Excel skills a must
      • Experience with shop floor/manufacturing systems (BOM, Routers)
      • Excellent time management skills and the ability to promote cooperation among co-workers.
      • Ability to analyze and reconcile financial data.
      • Effective organizational skills.
      • Detail oriented with the ability to investigate and resolve problems
      • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with various levels of management.
      • Ability to work well as part of a high performing team

      Preferred:

      • CPA, CMA or MBA a plus
      • Experience with ORACLE ERP or shop floor manufacturing systems a plus

        The anticipated salary for this position for an employee who is located in California is $130,000 to $145,000 per year, plus bonus, based on performance, and benefits. The final pay offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and years of experience within the job, the type and years of experience within the industry, education, etc. The Company is a multi-state employer and this pay scale may not reflect the pay scale for an employee who works in other states or locations.
