      Schedule: Full Time 40 or Part Time, 24 hours per week | 8a – 4:30pm with flexible scheduling

      Department: Kresge Health & Rehab Center, Memory Care, Assisted Living, and Independent Living | Chelsea Retirement Community | Chelsea, MI

      What You’ll Do in This Role:

      The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) assists in providing rehabilitative services to people with mental, physical, emotional, or developmental impairments as part of in-house rehab services in SNF, Assisted Living, Memory Care, and Independent Living.

      Primary Responsibilities:

      • Works under the direction of occupational therapists to plan, implement, and administer programs that restore or enhance functional abilities.
      • Assists occupational therapists in executing treatment plans.
      • Monitors patients' performance during therapy activities and provides encouragement.
      • Instruct patients and families on home programs, daily living skills, and the proper use of adaptive equipment.
      • Observes and records patients' progress, attitudes, and behaviors, maintaining accurate client records.
      • Reports patient progress, attitudes, and behaviors to supervisors.
      • Performs clerical duties as needed to support therapy services.

      What You’ll Need:

      • Graduate of an accredited Therapy program
      • 1 -2 years of related experience
      • Current Occupational Therapy Assistant state license
      • Excellent verbal and written communication
      • Position requires the ability to lift and move objects, weighing up to 35 pounds without assistance
