What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Make introductory contact with referred Sailors to provide information about the SAIL program
- Conduct initial clinical assessments and ongoing risk assessments using evidence-based tools
- Collaborate with Sailor’s Command to provide updates on risk, safety, and recovery progress
- Provide clinical case management to ensure Sailors are connected with behavioral health providers
- Document and maintain comprehensive records of all SAIL contacts and services provided
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Master’s degree in counseling, social work, marriage and family therapy, or a doctoral degree in psychology
- Current, valid, and unrestricted clinical license or certification for independent practice
- Minimum of two years of full-time, post-master’s supervised clinical experience
- Experience managing crises with suicidal clients and implementing safety plans
- Proficiency in oral and written communication skills

- Knowledge of military life stresses and adjustment challenges
- Experience providing short-term counseling to military community members
- Familiarity with military and community referral resources
- Ability to communicate effectively with Command Leadership
