      Job Summary:

      Gritman Medical Center is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Courier to join our Courier Services team. This position is responsible for driving a hospital vehicle to transport various items, including specimens, supplies, instruments, cash bags, documents, and other goods, to and from Gritman facilities and clinics on and off-campus. There are two shifts open: a part-time (~10 hours / week) position for weekend coverage and a PRN.

      Key Duties and Responsibilities:

      • Follow the daily schedule to ensure timely pickups and deliveries.
      • Handle and transport specimens and biohazardous materials safely using appropriate protective equipment.
      • Navigate to multiple locations using an electronic map or provided instructions.
      • Maintain documentation for deliveries and pickups as required.
      • Safely operate a vehicle in all weather conditions.

      Job Requirements:

      Licenses/Certifications:

      • Must possess a valid driver’s license at the time of hire.
      • Obtain an Idaho or Washington driver’s license within 30 days of the start date.

      Experience:

      • Experience following a daily schedule is preferred.
      • Familiarity with driving in diverse weather conditions is preferred.

      Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

      • Ability to use electronic maps for locating addresses is preferred.

      Physical Demands:

      • Frequent lifting of items up to 20 lbs; occasional lifting up to 60 lbs (with assistance as needed).
      • Occasional pushing/pulling carts up to 60 lbs.
      • Sitting/driving for up to 2 hours at a time.
      • Frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, and occasional stair climbing.

      Environmental Conditions:

      • Work is performed both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions (heat, wind, rain, hail, snow, frost, and ice).
      • Gloves must be worn during specimen transfers and while handling biohazardous materials.
