      The Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) is looking for several Course Facilitators . The Course Facilitators will work closely with the CTL instructional design staff and provide support to faculty teaching teams. They will train and assist teaching teams in updating existing onsite and fully online Course Plus websites adhering to BSPH/CTL standards. They will also provide guidance on using Course Plus and other technological tools for course delivery. Course Facilitators will maintain documentation on course consultations. Provide Course Plus training, individual coaching, and assistance for faculty and teaching assistants.


      Specific Duties & Responsibilities

      • Edit the Syllabus and recommend set up using CTL syllabus checklists.
      • Build out and organize Schedule Builder to include course events and dates.
      • Create Page Builder pages with content to link with events on Schedule Builder.
      • Set up Discussion Forum, Online Library, Wiki, Gradebook, Sign Up Sheets, Groups, and other Course Plus tools.
      • Import and link lectures from Panopto and other classes.
      • Link quizzes, online library, surveys, discussion forums, wikis, peer assessments, sign-up sheets, pathfinders, and other web pages to Schedule Builder.
      • Generate drop boxes from Schedule builder.
      • Share best practices with teaching teams regarding Schedule Builder setup.


      Minimum Qualifications
      • Bachelor's Degree in Instructional Design, Instructional Technology, Education, or related field.
      • One year's progressively responsible related experience.
      • Additional education may substitute for required experience and additional related experience may substitute for required education, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.


      Preferred Qualifications
      • Ideal candidates will be recently graduated BSPH doctoral students and post-doctoral fellows.
      • Recently graduated master’s students may be considered.
      • Applicants should have been a Teaching Assistant (TA) for at least one course at BSPH and be very familiar with CoursePlus tools.
      • Completion of BSPH Teaching Assistantship Training a plus.

      JHU Equivalency Formula: 30 undergraduate degree credits (semester hours) or 18 graduate degree credits may substitute for one year of experience. Additional related experience may substitute for required education on the same basis. For jobs where equivalency is permitted, up to two years of non-related college course work may be applied towards the total minimum education/experience required for the respective job.

      The pre-employment physical for positions in clinical areas, laboratories, working with research subjects, or involving community contact requires documentation of immune status against Rubella (German measles), Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Varicella (chickenpox), Hepatitis B and documentation of having received the Tdap (Tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis) vaccination. This may include documentation of having two (2) MMR vaccines; two (2) Varicella vaccines; or antibody status to these diseases from laboratory testing. Blood tests for immunities to these diseases are ordinarily included in the pre-employment physical exam except for those employees who provide results of blood tests or immunization documentation from their own health care providers. Any vaccinations required for these diseases will be given at no cost in our Occupational Health office.
