      The Alaska Court System is accepting applications for a Court Supervisor 2 (Assistant Supervisor) (salary range 13).

      The Position
      This position will assist with the supervision of staff and operations in the Probate/Children's Division of the Anchorage Trial Courts. The incumbent will assist in interviewing, hiring, preparing performance evaluations, planning, organizing, and assigning work within the division. In this role, you will provide guidance and direction to employees relating to technical work, clarifying policies and procedures, evaluating work quality and quantity, and training new employees in job duties and responsibilities of court case managers. This position will be responsible for monitoring the progress of trainees, preparing documentation to support acceptable and/or deficient work performance, and assisting in the preparation and maintenance of training and orientation plans.

      Additionally, you will respond to inquiries in writing, in person, or telephonically from other court system personnel, attorneys, agencies, and the general public; perform subordinate duties and cross-train to assist other divisions as directed.


      Work Hours

      Full-time court employees are currently scheduled to work 37.5 hours per week. The work hours for this position are Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with a one-hour lunch break.

      Graduation from high school or completion of a General Education Development (GED) certificate AND two years of office clerical work experience.

      Substitutions:

      Additional office clerical work experience will substitute for the high school diploma or GED certificate on a year-for-year basis.

      Completion of 72 semester credit hours or 96 quarter credit hours of coursework from an accredited college will substitute for the two years of required office clerical work experience.

      Completion of an appropriate vocational training course of study such as legal secretary, paralegal, or office skills will substitute for the required office clerical work experience on a month-for-month basis.

      EDUCATION

      If post-secondary education is required to meet the Minimum Qualifications, you must fill in the Education and Training section of the application. If you have not obtained a degree, please indicate the number of credit hours earned in the Degree Obtained field. Copies of academic transcripts will be required at time of interview.

      SELECTION PROCEDURE

      Applicants will be required to meet the Minimum Qualifications as outlined above. Unfortunately, we cannot always interview all applicants.
