- Accurately record details of court proceedings entering items into database such as: court proceedings notes, hearing information and outcomes, trial proceedings and outcomes, bail bonds, motions, dispositions, parties involve, evidence, obligations, judgment, and sentence information.
- Function as procedural and operational liaison, in the courtroom, between Judges, attorneys and the public.
- Review all case files and database entries for accuracy and completeness.
- Maintain flexibility and professionalism when fulfilling responsibilities for assigned courtroom and calendars.
- Act as a team player by sharing knowledge and information on courtroom processes and procedures.
- Handle multiple tasks, including listening, writing, scheduling court dates, answering questions, entering data, and monitoring the flow and electronic record of the court proceedings.
- Cover all types of high-volume, fast-paced courtrooms either independently or as a team.
- Adjust and maintain working knowledge of changing technology.
- Knowledge of basic legal concepts and processes.
- Knowledge of legal terminology.

About the role: A Courtroom Clerk plays an integral part of our courtroom operations by accurately preparing the record of a court hearing's events while attending court. You will have the exciting opportunity to learn how to navigate our case management system, process evidence, swear in witnesses, administer Oaths, become familiar with court hearings, legal terminology & more! You will also work closely with judges, attorneys and other court personnel.
We are seeking an energetic and organized individual to join our County Criminal department. County Criminal court typically handles a range of misdemeanor cases, traffic citations and violations. These cases often have penalties such as fines, probation, or short-term imprisonment in County jail. Common cases include: DUI, Theft, Drug Possession, Vandalism.PAY PROGRESSION OPPPORTUNITY!!
This position is eligible to receive a 5% increase to the hourly rate, which has already been added to the salary advertised. This 5% increase is awarded upon completion of the introductory period. The Criminal Courtroom Administrator position participates in a pay progression program that allows pay increases in phases for employees who are cross trained in all areas of Criminal Courts at the main Judicial Center (WPB). This position can earn up to an additional 10% increase to the hourly rate upon completion of cross-training.

Associate's degree, supplemented by three (3) years of recent and relevant experience; or in lieu of Associate's degree, 2 years of direct work experience in applying acute attention to detail in maintenance of detailed data preferably in an automated systems environment.
