      The Ethics, Compliance, and Risk Management (ECRM) CPA Licensing team supports our organization in managing risks related to CPA licensing requirements in the US. We collaborate to identify, manage, and monitor these risks while providing coordinated advice and assistance.

      The opportunity

      CPA Licensing Compliance is seeking an Assistant Director to support and manage CPA compliance requirements. The role involves ensuring compliance with CPA licensing standards, leveraging a strong background in accountancy, preferably with experience at a State Board of Accountancy, NASBA, or within a CPA practice. Responsibilities include providing complex consultations, reviewing state board rules, and engaging with senior leaders and teams across the organization, including interactions with executive-level personnel.

      Your Key Responsibilities

      • Provide complex consultations on CPA licensing processes, requirements, and best practices.
      • Review state board rules and regulations to ensure they align with current practices and policies.
      • Monitor regulatory trends and advise on necessary adjustments.
      • Collaborate with Service Line leaders and Talent Leaders to enhance understanding of licensure requirements.
      • Prepare and present reports on regulatory changes to leadership.
      • Encourage a collaborative team environment with open communication.
      • Participate in meetings with leadership, GCO, and risk management teams.
      • Suggest improvements based on experience and existing processes.
      • Follow up on requests and assist EY personnel with licensing questions.
      • Conduct research to support compliance recommendations.
      • Notify relevant personnel of issues related to quality, confidentiality, or risk.
      • Partner with professionals to resolve complex licensing issues.
      • Provide excellent internal customer service and answer complex client questions.
      • Document work processes and findings appropriately.
      • Build and leverage a network within Ethics & Compliance and across EY.

      Minimum Qualifications

      • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
      • 7-10+ years of relevant professional experience.
      • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

      Preferred Qualifications

      • Research skills using internal and external sources.
      • Experience with system implementation/integration.
      • Data analysis skills.
      • Experience at a State Board of Accountancy, NASBA, or within a CPA practice such as Audit.
