      About the Role

      Reporting to the Maintenance Team Lead, we are seeking a Craft Technician Instrumentation and Control specializing in Analyzer s. You will be responsible for the maintenance and overhaul of process, utilities, and marine equipment. Commissioning and Start-up will be an area of high demand where extra effort by individuals will be required by all including, longer hours, night shift, and working in inclement weather as examples.

      Instrumentation and Control Technicians specializing in Analyzers are part of the Maintenance Team in the Production Department and are responsible for, but not limited to, Instrumentation and Analyzer maintenance, repairs, and calibrations across the site, as well as mentoring and training other craft technicians.

      During the construction phase, Instrumentation and Control Technicians could work within the Site Construction Team, supporting the quality assurance activities associated with instrumentation equipment installation, cleanliness, preservation, and CSU activities, and or with the Assset side, assisting with procedures and work instruction review. They may be involved with overseeing the installation of Instrumentation and analyzer equipment from installation through to commissioning the equipment for ready to operate.

      During operate individuals will be required to analyze data through different tools and lenses and be able to work with remote office staff to solve various complex issues within their field of expertise. Each individual must be fully committed to become an expert in their field enabling quick decision making with fit for purpose and cost-effective solutions.

      Instrumentation and Control Technicians will be required to understand what digitalization is, how they can leverage new technologies, and know the importance data means to LNG Canada. Close collaboration with both the Project and Asset Teams to ensure delivery of a quality asset from the Project Team and all EPC quality deliverables are met will be essential.

      You will use your expertise to:

      During Project Execute Phase (module fabrication, pre-commissioning, commissioning, start up, ramp up)

      • Support assurance activities at site to ensure EPC deliverables meet the requirements of the Lump Sum Contract, DEPs, ITRs and operational readiness requirements
      • Support punch listing at handover to ensure agreement with A, B, C, and D punch items
      • Support the asset team as “boots on the ground” to facilitate a quality CMMS build to ensure quality Preventative and Corrective Maintenance plans, providing feedback to the CMMS team on hours, steps, and equipment history
      • Support writing equipment maintenance practices, procedures and guidelines based on site experience gained during construction phase and vendor support
      • Initiate NCRs for items not meeting EPC’s deliverables
      • Collaborate with EPC and site construction team to display and promote a learner mindset
      • Find opportunities for digitalization vs the way we have always done it, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and future proofing our business
      • Support connected worker and augmented worker vision for LNGC
      • Support Asset in Work Instruction and Procedure creation and review

      During Operate (run and maintain) Phase:

      • Instrumentation and Control Technicians, specializing in Analyzers, will be part of the site EI&A team responsible for the safe and efficient execution of Analyzer equipment maintenance and overhauls in both plant and marine environment, as well as assisting in Fire and Gas equipment maintenance and other general Instrumentation work
      • Support site continuous improvement both in terms of efficiency but also digitalization initiatives and opportunities to drive best in class performance
      • Drive best in class performance by embracing a learner mindset to become digitally enabled technician of the future leveraging technology and data, artificial intelligence, automation, robotics, analytics
      • Support Turnaround and Major Maintenance Teams as required to provide site expertise and guidance during pre work phases and execution
      • Act as mentors for both operations teams and Apprentices to share knowledge and experience to better enable efficiency and best in class performance
      • Support and develop Minor maintenance by Operations philosophy through training and demonstration so skills and knowledge can be shared to better enable a highly effective and highly trained operations team able to multi skill
      • Champion the strategy of Lean and Continuous Improvement within the discipline for effectiveness and efficiency.

      To be successful, you will have:

      • Instrumentation and Control Journey Person with Red Seal qualification
      • 5 Years experience in a heavy industrial setting
      • Experience Operating, Maintaining, Troubleshooting, and Programming modern Analyzer equipment
      • Hydrocarbon manufacturing facility experience an asset (LNG, Upgrading, Refining) Other qualifications also relevant (Pulp and Paper, Sawmills, Power Generation, etc)
      • Dual trade (Electrial and Instrumentation considered an asset)
      • Fluent and articulate in English
      • Experience mentoring others

      This role requires that you:

      • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada (i.e., by way of Canadian citizenship, permanent residency, or valid work permit)
      • Know that this role is based in Kitimat, BC.
      • Relocate to Kitimat/Terrace, BC
      • Live in the beautiful District of Stikine (Kitimat/Terrace).       • Target to start 2023
      • During Operate: 40hrs per week/5/2, or 50 Hours of work, not necessarly every Saturday and Sunday off depending on Execute role.
      • Know that during Campaign Maintenance and Turnaround events could require additional effort including longer hours and shift work
      • Are willing to work outdoors, during inclement weather, in all seasons, including heavy snowfall and periods of heavy rain.
      • Are able to climb ladders and stairs, work at heights and in confined spaces. Plant design conditions provide structures that are significantly taller than common in industry, individuals must be comfortable with heights as well as travel to and from the workface at heights.
      • Are able to work wearing a respirator or Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA)
      • Are willing to comply with LNGC’s drug-free and harassment-free work environment and comply with all safety policies and procedures.
      • Undergo a pre-placement medical assessment of your fitness for duty, a background check and Pre-Site Access testing for alcohol and specified drugs.
      • Have a Valid Driver’s license
      • Know that this is not a fly-in, fly-out rotation role.
