- Troubleshoot and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions
- Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine extent of repair required
- Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts
- Keep maintenance reports and documentation
- Test repaired equipment for proper performance and to ensure that work meets manufacturers' specifications
- Clean, lubricate and perform other maintenance work
- Service attachments and working tools
- Interpret engineering drawings, electrical schematics and blueprints
- Complete detailed inspection documentation
- Operate hoisting and lifting equipment
- Ensure adherence to safety regulations
- Programmable logic controller (PLC)
- Overhead crane
- Gantry crane, fixed or limited mobility
- Monorails
- Hoists or winches
- Electrical and electronic controls
- Electrical assemblies, equipment and wiring
