- Maintain a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Be a consistent witness for Jesus Christ, maintaining a courteous, Christ-like attitude in dealing with people within and outside of Compassion, and faithfully uphold Compassion’s ministry in prayer.
- Act as an advocate to raise the awareness of the needs of children. Understand Christ’s mandate to protect children. Commit to and prioritizes child protection considerations in all decision-making, tasks and activities across the ministry. Abide by all behavioral expectations in Compassion’s Statement of Commitment to Child Protection and Code of Conduct. Report any concerns of abuse, neglect or exploitation of children through Compassion’s internal reporting process and appropriately support responses to incidents if they occur.
- Uphold and engage in Compassion’s core Cultural Behaviors .
- Designs, writes, and develops multi-faceted funding proposals and packages in response to ongoing and critical program needs and general funding needs. Uniquely tailors such packages for churches, and possibly universities and influencers. Understands the diverse donor groups and utilizes a varied approach to fundraising, working to attain financial support from each partner and leading them to deeper engagement with Compassion’s work.
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams within Compassion to deliver high quality proposal materials, reports, and special-request deliverables. Crafts compelling funding proposals by collecting and synthesizing relevant data from various teams and sources and ensuring on-time delivery.
- Designs, writes, and creates stewardship reports by synthesizing data, ensuring that the report information correlates with the proposal and reconciling any differences between the report and the funded proposal. Researches and provides supplemental information in response to questions concerning proposals and stewardship reports.
- Receives and manages various proposal and reporting requirements from Church, program, and support teams within Salesforce.
- May coach and provide expertise to other professionals and support staff in the proposals discipline.
- Gathers relevant and available assets from global partners and editing for cultural relevance, language, and sensitive messaging, according to Compassion’s brand guidelines. Copywriting to support our Church & Influencer teams’ partnership communications, marketing and fundraising efforts.
- Innovating and further developing proposal and reporting templates and content.
- Facilitates all aspects of the proposal design, implementation, delivery, storage, and tracking.
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
- Seven years Relevant experience working in this or a related field.
- Working knowledge of Adobe InDesign and InCopy and WordPress and Salesforce.
- Prior experience in donor communications (impact reporting) and marketing.

The expected salary range for this position is $75,200.00 - $94,000.00. Employees in specific high cost of labor locations in the United States (such as San Francisco, CA and Seattle, WA) may qualify for a geographic differential. As a Creative Communications Specialist III on the Tactical Marketing team, you’ll play an important role in connecting churches and other partners to Compassion’s ministry. Enjoy a front row seat to our ministry work around the world as you compile data, letters, photos, and stories from the field. You’ll utilize this rich content to update church partners on the specific ways their generosity is helping to release children from poverty in Jesus’ name. The Creative Specialist III also helps to secure funding for various projects in Compassion’s 29 program countries by creating and writing custom proposals, and you’ll occasionally have the opportunity to write or review copy for new Church and Influencer projects. This role stays well connected to the incredible work Compassion does all around the world by sharing beautiful stories of transformation with our U.S. partners.
