POSITION SUMMARY:
Lead the content creation (consisting of social media and creative services) team for PHS (Pennsylvania Horticultural Society) to develop, create, and execute engaging creative campaigns across social media and PHS owned and operated channels, as well digital, print, and more for paid advertising.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Reports to Chief Marketing Officer
• Develop and execute creative content strategies across all social media channels to drive brand awareness, engagement, and conversion.
• Lead and mentor a team of content creators and designers, providing guidance, feedback, and support to ensure high-quality deliverables that align with brand guidelines and objectives.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including comms and digital marketing teams to concept and execute integrated campaigns that resonate with our target audience.
• Act as the lead copywriter, crafting compelling and on-brand copy for social media posts, campaigns, and other marketing collateral.
• Monitor and analyze social media metrics and campaign performance, providing insights and recommendations for optimization and continuous improvement.
• Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to inform content strategies and maintain a competitive edge.
• Collaborate and manage social content calendars, budgets, and timelines to ensure timely delivery of content and campaigns.
Education, Experience and Skills Required:
• Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Design/Film/Graphic Arts, Writing or Communications
• Proven experience (minimum 8-10 years) in a similar leadership role with a focus on social media management, content creation, and copywriting.
• Exceptional writing and editing skills with a keen eye for detail and creativity.
• Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to inspire creativity, foster collaboration, and drive results.
• Experience with concepting and executing creative media campaigns across digital platforms.
• Proficiency in social media management tools, analytics platforms, and content management systems.
• Ability to follow design direction and brand guidelines.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize projects, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Attention to detail and accuracy, including strong proofreading skills.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to problem solve and work independently, and work as a team member.
• Commitment to the mission of the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society.
Knowledge of the Following a Plus:
• Passion for plants, trees, flowers and gardening
• Light (platform specific) editing skills (e.g. TikTok, IG, etc)
• Familiarity with design programs (e.g. Adobe)
Other requirements:
• Ability to traverse indoor and outdoor terrain for extended periods of time (up to an hour) if needed, and lift maximum of 20 pounds. Most of the following physical demands are required during the annual Philadelphia Flower Show.
• Ability to work limited extended days and flexible hours, as needed, throughout the year and in preparation for the annual PHS Philadelphia Flower Show.
