Strategic Leadership & Vision: Develop and implement the overall creative vision and strategy for Village Media, ensuring alignment with business goals and brand objectives.
Brand Stewardship: Oversee and maintain all style guides and branding guidelines, ensuring consistent application across all platforms and materials.
Digital Advertising Oversight: Direct the design and production of high-quality digital advertisements for local clients, ensuring they are effective, visually appealing, and meet client specifications.
Marketing Design Concepts: Lead the conceptualization and design of marketing materials for new initiatives, projects, and company events, including sales collateral, promotional posters, and presentations.
Email Marketing Design: Oversee the design and branding of our daily email communications, ensuring engaging and effective visual presentation.
Social Media Platform Branding: Continue to guide the visual development and branding of our recently launched social media platform, SPACES, ensuring a cohesive and impactful user experience.
Team Management & Development: Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of 5 designers, fostering a positive and productive work environment. This includes assigning projects, providing constructive feedback, and supporting their professional growth.
Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Work closely and collaboratively with Sales, Ad Operations, Client Services, and Marketing Communications teams to understand their needs and deliver effective creative solutions. Build and maintain strong, positive working relationships across the organization.
Workflow & Process Management: Optimize creative workflows and processes to ensure efficiency and timely delivery of projects.
Tool & Technology Proficiency: Oversee the effective use of design software, including the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.), and manage our Mailchimp platform.
Proven experience in a creative leadership role, preferably within a media or related industry.
Strong understanding of branding principles and the ability to develop and maintain consistent brand identities.
Experience overseeing the design and production of digital advertising.
Familiarity with email marketing design best practices and platforms (experience with Mailchimp is highly desirable).
Experience in developing marketing design concepts for various initiatives and materials.
Excellent management and leadership skills, with a proven ability to motivate and develop a team.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships and collaborate effectively across departments.
Proficiency in the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.).
Flexibility and the ability to adapt to changing priorities and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
While strong personal design skills are a plus, exceptional leadership, strategic thinking, and communication abilities are paramount.

The Opportunity
Village Media is seeking a dynamic and collaborative Creative Director to lead our talented design team. This is an exciting opportunity for a strategic and people-oriented leader to shape the visual identity of our organization and drive the creative execution of our diverse initiatives. Reporting directly to the CSO, the Creative Director will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our creative output, ensuring brand consistency, and fostering strong working relationships across departments.
