- Designs and produces compelling print and digital marketing assets.
- Develops high-quality multimedia projects including photo and video content.
- Maintains brand standards. Creates and updates templates for signage, flyers, social media, graphics, logoed merchandise, and other marketing materials.
- Proofreads materials and ensures final creative is error-free, ready to print or publish, and on time.
- Coordinates all aspects of print production including project specifications, print estimates, proofs, timeline, and distribution.
- Maintains an organized asset management system for all creative including photos, videos, and graphics.
- Coordinates translation projects with internal staff and external vendors. Translates materials as needed.
- Coordinates record-keeping for production projects.
- Ensures current marketing materials are available in stocked items inventory.
- Prepares, tracks, and reports key metrics.
- Works with departments and committees to support initiatives.
- Delivers excellent customer service to internal and external clients.
- Keeps current on design, marketing, social media trends, and tools.
- Travels to library locations and community locations on a case-by-case basis for photography, videography, production, distribution, events, and meetings.
- Attends meetings and events; participates in various teams and committees.
- Acts as a representative of Sacramento Public Library in all discussions, presentations, and interactions with the public, partners, and other persons engaged during duties assigned to the position.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Associate degree in graphic design, illustration, fine arts, marketing, communications or a related field
- Two years of experience in conceptualizing, designing, and producing creative content; or equivalent technical training, education, and/or experience;
- Experience with graphic design and video production software and tools such as Adobe Creative Suite
- Previous experience working in a library, non-profit, or public agency environment
- Bilingual (Spanish preferred)
- Signage and environmental graphics design and production.
- Familiarity with ADA requirements.
The ideal candidate for the Creative Projects Associate combines expertise in graphic design, photography, and videography with a commitment to customer service and strong communication skills. Must love storytelling, using different media, and have a demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility. They are bilingual and can write, speak, and translate in Spanish for multiple audiences. Being highly organized and collaborative with a keen attention to detail and strong project management skills is key to success. They can manage multiple projects and competing priorities for creative, production, asset management, and translations. Education in graphic design, marketing, or communications, along with relevant experience in design and production, is desired.
