      The expected salary range for this position is $65,300.00 - $81,600.00. Employees in specific high cost of labor locations in the United States (such as San Francisco, CA and Seattle, WA) may qualify for a geographic differential.       Overview

      Compassion is looking for a digitally savvy content creator to produce empathetic and thought-provoking writing for a variety of Compassion's digital channels.

      The ideal candidate will have a passion for engaging and creative writing and be nimble and eager to stay two steps ahead of rapidly evolving best practices of writing content for organic search as well as for email and social media. We are looking for someone dynamic, independent and well organized, with the ability to plan, multitask, prioritize and create for multiple platforms.

      In this role, you'll be able to conceptualize, research, pitch, write and edit high-quality content including social media copy, ads, web articles and email marketing content that help Compassion both reach and nurture new and existing audiences at each stage of the marketing funnel. A positive, strategic and problem-solving attitude, enthusiasm, and the ability to drive creativity and top of the range written content is essential for this role.

      What will you do?

      • Maintain a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Be a consistent witness for Jesus Christ, maintaining a courteous, Christ-like attitude in dealing with people within and outside of Compassion, and faithfully uphold Compassion’s ministry in prayer.
      • Act as an advocate to raise the awareness of the needs of children. Understand Christ’s mandate to protect children. Commit to and prioritizes child protection considerations in all decision-making, tasks and activities across the ministry. Abide by all behavioral expectations in Compassion’s Statement of Commitment to Child Protection and Code of Conduct. Report any concerns of abuse, neglect or exploitation of children through Compassion’s internal reporting process and appropriately support responses to incidents if they occur.
      • Uphold and engage in Compassion’s core Cultural Behaviors .
      • Conceptualize and effectively design, plan, and produce engaging short-form and complex long-form digital writing projects.
      • Understand and apply best practices for short-form copy and storytelling on platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Tik Tok, YouTube, and Twitter—both organic and paid.
      • Conduct research in the media asset management system to obtain material for the preparation, writing and editing of rich media content for digital channel distribution.
      • Understand and apply best practices for short-form and long-form email writing.
      • Understand and apply best practices for rich media web articles.
      • Collaborate effectively with internal Creative & Content and Digital Experience neighbours to elevate Compassion International’s storytelling and creative outputs.
      • Provide feedback to internal SMEs on project timelines, potential challenges, and suggestions and ideas to take a project idea from concept to completion.
      • Research and pitch ideas for future content elements on Compassion's digital platforms.

      What do you bring?

      • Eye for organizing and building brand content narratives and content that is distinctive and optimized for audience needs and organizational goals (click, scroll, convert, etc).
      • Experience with creating content for audience acquisition and lead nurture journeys.
      • Ability to write digital content with personality and a sense of humor.
      • Emotive POV communicator who loves to write engaging stories.
      • Curiosity around shifting industry trends in digital media.
      • Experience with digital marketing, social media and SEO writing.
      • Ability to think up creative ideas to promote a brand in innovative ways.
      • 2+ years of experience translating complex subject matter into short-form mediums.
      • 2+ years of experience writing short-form copy for email and social media platforms.
      • 4-6 years of experience working as a writer, editor, and/or marketer, and a portfolio with a strong sense of audience empathy and contextual storytelling is preferred.
      • Experience with writing projects in quick turnaround and high-volume environments.
      • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, English, or a related field
      • 2+ years of professional experience working within a creative studio or marketing team, especially in the digital and mobile space preferred.
      • Familiar with Adobe Creative Cloud suite preferred.
