      We are seeking a part-time Credit Analyst. This role will report to the VP/ Commercial Credit Manager in the Commercial Banking department. The role is responsible for interpreting and analyzing commercial and industrial, commercial real estate, agricultural, bank and bank holding company borrowing relationships to identify strengths, weaknesses, and risks related to borrower status and repayment ability. They will use various software programs for spreading financial statements, financial analysis and underwriting.

      Credit Analysis

      • Communicate and coordinate with lenders to gather, analyze, summarize financial information and prepare underwriting presentations and credit memos.
      • Review credit materials to determine quality and sufficiency of information for new and existing loan relationships.
      • Analyze financial information to ascertain historical and projected financial performance.
      • Interpret and apply corporate financial policies, government legislation, and accounting rules.
      • Evaluate profit plans, operating records, and financial statements.
      • Prepare spreadsheets, reports and analyses in areas of budgets, financial plans, loan risk concentrations, government requirements, statistics and data, cash flow projections and business forecasts.
      • Analyze and understand mathematical schedules, transfer of numerical data, and evaluation of variances to balance schedules.
      • Coordinate and effectively communicate with lending staff to gather, analyze, summarize financial information and prepare credit recommendations.
      • Prepare underwriting presentations for internal and external audiences while utilizing solid decision-making skills, appropriate risk identification and analysis, and critical thinking.

      Administrative

      • Perform appraisal reviews and real estate evaluation reviews to determine satisfactory compliance with regulations. Assist in preparing in-house real estate evaluations as needed.
      • Assist documentation reviews and maintenance of financial ticklers.
      • Maintain databases of pertinent information for use in analyzing new and existing data and forecasts for client and portfolio reporting.
      • Recommend efficiency, cost saving or technical improvements related to the credit analysis activities of the department.
      • Participate in various projects as assigned.

      The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economic, investments, business, banking or another related field. Previous banking experience with a strong understanding of business financial statements and cash flow. Have familiarity with financial spreadsheets and financial formulas. Lastly, will have working knowledge of practices and principles of accounting applied to the interpretation of financial/ credit information, commercial, agricultural, real estate and bank lending.
