Audit and Controls: Perform audits and validations on credit bureau reporting processes both through internal data and external data received from credit bureau reporting agencies to ensure the accuracy of our reporting to the credit bureaus. Ensures current practices and audit outcomes are aligned with relevant regulatory and industry requirements for reporting. These audits may include but is not limited to the following: Bankruptcy, Cares Act, Fraud, Deceased, Charge-Off, Sold, Conversions, De-conversions, Credit Bureau Reject Reporting, Experian Dashboard Reporting, etc. Responsible for participating in and leading credit bureau efforts for system installs, customer remediation efforts and may serve as issue owner for Archer issues or remediation plans following our Enterprise Risk and Control processes. Prioritizes efforts on critical initiatives and works to identify opportunities and problem solve.
Analytics: Responsible for creating and maintaining queries related to audit and monitoring functions, as well as critical regulatory and customer remediations. Ability to perform ad-hoc research and root cause analysis on any potential process, system or other gaps identified and collaborate with business partners on issue and problem resolution to help drive overall strategy. Ability to perform trending and impact analysis as it pertains to reporting, disputes, complaints, and industry trends.
Reporting and Documentation: Create and maintain documented procedures for internal processes including audit processes, cadences, and results. Review and update existing procedures on an annual basis to ensure procedures are relevant and up to date. Create new documented procedures for new audits as needed. Responsible for documentation, in established templates and formats on the credit bureau reporting team, of all audit results, outcomes, and follow-up activity for audits performed. Participate in reviews of audit results, responsible for presenting findings. Complete monthly reporting which will summarize credit bureau reporting performance through data coming from the bureaus as well as newly identified potential issues that will need to be investigated. Define, formulate and execute business strategies for credit bureau reporting that fully support adherence to regulatory requirements. Assists with presentations for quarterly meetings with all key stakeholders to communicate performance results as well as review benchmarking against peers in the industry in key areas of reporting and disputes.
Communication: Openly communicates to leaders when issues are identified. Lead internal and external discussions to determine root cause analysis. Provide guidance and advice to key stakeholders on specific areas of concern identified, impacts on credit reporting and the business, and recommendations on fixes and resolutions that will need to be completed. Demonstrates outstanding Verbal and Written Communication skills when working with internal and external partners.
Relationships/Business Support: Supports and consults with cross-functional partners both internal and external for matters related to credit bureau reporting. Partners with Compliance and Legal to ensure adherence to all compliance and regulatory requirements. Establishes relationships with credit bureau contacts for Experian, Equifax, Trans Union, and Innovis for all topics related to credit bureau reporting; and seeks input from each where appropriate in making our internal business decisions on reporting and remediations. Participates in business projects and provides project updates in weekly meetings. Is a SME for business partners on industry credit bureau reporting guidelines and represents the credit bureau reporting team, making decisions for credit bureau reporting initiatives.
Normal office environment, some travel may be required.
This position is hybrid with an onsite schedule of 3-4 days per month. In-office requirements are subject to change based on business needs. This position is currently available to candidates that reside within 60 miles of Columbus, OH; Chadds Ford, PA; Plano, TX; Draper, UT; Wilmington, DE; or New York, NY.
High School diploma or equivalent relevant work experience
Six or more years in Credit Bureau Reporting experience and/or relevant business experience
Proven working knowledge of Metro 2 Industry Guidelines.
High School diploma or equivalent work experience
Eight or more years in Credit Bureau Reporting experience and/or relevant business experience
Proven working knowledge of Metro 2 guidelines and format.
Proven working knowledge of FCRA (Fair Credit Reporting Act)

Job Summary
The Credit Bureau Reporting Specialist is responsible for managing business strategies and governance for credit bureau reporting and ensuring compliance with relevant regulatory requirements. Responsibilities include: identifying key areas of opportunities and gaps, resolution of issues, leading internal, external (the credit bureaus), and joint initiatives to improve and maintain the accuracy and integrity of our credit bureau reporting and ensure alignment with regulatory requirements. Responsibilities may also include ownership of certain processes that have an impact on credit reporting such as Bankruptcy, CBR Complaints, and CBR Disputes.Job Description

Typical Starting Range:
$79,500.00 - $144,100.00Full Salary Range for position:
California: $91,500.00 - $180,100.00 Colorado: $79,500.00 - $151,300.00 New York: $87,500.00 - $180,100.00 Washington: $83,500.00 - $165,700.00The actual base pay within this range may be dependent upon many factors, which may include, but are not limited to, work location, education, experience, and skills.
Bread Financial offers medical, prescription drug, dental, vision, and other voluntary benefits (including basic and optional life insurance, supplemental medical plans, and short and long-term disability) to eligible associates (regular full-time associates scheduled to work 30 hours per week or more) and their spouses/domestic partners, and child(ren) under the age of 26. New associate elected coverage begins on date of hire (with the exception of disability coverage which has a 6-month waiting period). Six weeks of 100% paid parental leave for eligible parents is available after a 180-day waiting period. Hired associates can immediately enroll in Bread Financial’s 401(k) plan.
All associates receive 11 paid holidays. Associates have discretion in managing their time away from work through the Flexible Time Off (FTO) program and may need to notify and receive approval from their manager prior to taking the time off. Associates receive 80 hours of Paid Sick and Safety Time per calendar year at the beginning of each year and is prorated in the associate’s first year of employment.
Hired associates will be able to elect to purchase company stock during offering periods in June and December. You will be eligible for an annual incentive bonus based on individual and company performance.
