- Review and evaluate transcripts, credits earned, degree requirements, and other academic documents to determine degree completion.
- Apply institutional policies and articulation agreements to assess credit equivalence and course applicability.
- Maintain accurate records of evaluated credits and update student records in the student information system.
- Provide guidance to students, advisors, and faculty regarding transfer credit policies and degree requirements.
- Identify and resolve discrepancies in transfer evaluations and collaborate with academic departments to clarify course equivalencies.
- Ensure timely processing of evaluations to support students’ enrollment, academic planning, and graduation timelines.
- Communicate with students regarding degree completion and option to confer degree.
- Report out weekly evaluation progress and student response rates.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- 2+ years in evaluating credits/degree conferrals.
- 2+ Experience in the Registrar Department.
- Proficient in excel, Microsoft outlook
- Ensures accuracy in audits and compliance checks
- Works effectively with multiple departments
- Clearly communicates and provides guidance and support to others
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to assess compliance trends, identify risks, and recommend improvements
- Experience with platforms and Student Information Systems (People Soft)
- Ability to work independently and efficiently
Compensation Range:
Hourly: $20.00 - $23.00Position Summary
The Credit Evaluator for Degree Completion is responsible for assessing and analyzing students' academic records, transcripts, and prior learning experiences to determine the applicability of earned credits toward degree requirements. This role ensures accurate and timely evaluation of transfer credits, military credits, and other forms of prior learning in compliance with institutional policies and accreditation standards. The Credit Evaluator collaborates closely with the Registrar’s Office, Academic Advising, and other departments to support students' academic progress and degree completion.
