      Job Description:

      Through examinations and monitoring, Credit Review provides an independent assessment of the quality of credit decisioning, portfolio management, risk recognition practices and the effectiveness of credit processes across the bank’s credit platform, identifies existing and emerging risks, and reports its findings to various stakeholders, including executive management, the Board of Directors or committee thereof, external auditors and regulatory agencies.

      This job is responsible for establishing and executing a risk-based coverage plan to monitor the Home Loans Portfolio(s). Key responsibilities include serving as a subject matter expert in Credit Review, developing a risk-based plan to monitor and examine the portfolio, and performing transactional testing of credit process execution controls of new and existing clients to evaluate appropriateness of client selection, adherence to underwriting expectations and quality of ongoing monitoring to proactively identify emerging risks and the impact on portfolio credit quality.

      This job includes leading associates or teams to ensure accurate and timely execution of Credit Review testing (examinations and/or monitoring). This role includes providing updates to business leaders and executive management on continuous testing and examination results, new issues, and emerging risks. In addition prepares quarterly Business Assessment Reports and Coverage Plans; maintains awareness of current economic and business trends; and assesses the impact of economic trends on credit portfolios. May participate or lead projects or other Credit Review initiatives.

      Responsibilities:

      • Serves as a subject matter expert for portfolio(s) of loans and participates/leads in examination activities

      • Performs transactional testing of credit process execution of new and existing clients, providing direct and timely feedback on transactional reviews

      • Provides regulator updates on results, and responds to inquiries

      • Documents findings through quarterly reporting, including assessing and rating credit control effectiveness, direction of credit controls effectiveness, and credit riskiness for portfolio(s)

      • Assesses and advises on the impact of industry-level, geo-political, and economic trends to credit portfolios

      • Manages issues, including approval of issue severity ratings, action plans, ongoing issue status tracking, and oversight of issue validation

      Required Qualifications:

      • Minimum 8 years of consumer credit experience (credit review, direct lending, risk management and/or regulatory)

      • Experience in home loans lending

      • Ability to support conclusions through fact-based analysis and ability to influence senior leaders

      • Excellent credit analysis, project management and leadership skills

      • Strong organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal

      • Ability to manage multiple complex tasks while delivering high quality results

      • Bachelor’s Degree

      Pay and benefits information

      Pay range

      $128,700.00 - $200,300.00 annualized salary, offers to be determined based on experience, education and skill set.

      Discretionary incentive eligible

      This role is eligible to participate in the annual discretionary plan. Employees are eligible for an annual discretionary award based on their overall individual performance results and behaviors, the performance and contributions of their line of business and/or group; and the overall success of the Company.
