- This position will provide training on how to call Trainmen, Switchmen, Engineers, and Yardmasters to work in accordance with proper labor agreements
- Maintain computerized crew board, making necessary data entries regarding seniority moves, vacancies, personal leave, vacations, etc
- Process necessary reports and other duties as assigned
- This position is not a typical 40 hour-a-week opportunity. The position must be available for call 24 hours per day and able to work irregular hours, with holiday and weekend work included
- Prior railroad experience is not required we offer a paid training program
- Knowledge of computer programs and software (Microsoft Office)
- Must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Must have clear verbal and written communication skills
- Must pay attention to details and manage time effectively
- Must be able to work any of 3 shifts On-Call, holidays and weekends included
- May work various shifts all within the same week with no established schedule as to shift – the schedule will change daily based on the needs of the operation
- Employees will be assigned to positions after completing the training program

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
As a Crew Dispatcher you will communicate with Trainmen, Switchmen, Engineers, and Yardmasters employees to appropriate assignments while ensuring the timely and cost-effective deployment of crews to meet operational requirements.
This position is based in Kansas City, Missouri. The training will be done in Minneapolis until we relocate to Kansas City, Missouri in summer of 2024.

Medical Requirements:

Management Conductor Program:
Becoming a qualified conductor or locomotive engineer is the single best way for a management employee to learn the business at CPKC. You may be required to obtain a certification or to maintain your current certification/qualification as a conductor or locomotive engineer.
