- To practice right first time radiography and strive to achieve quality assurance in all aspects of the radiology service
- To participate in department shift system and/or out of hours and on call roster
- Perform technical administrative tasks, including accurate patient information, examination details and post processing requirements on the Radiology Information and PACS systems.
- To assist the Radiology Site Manager/ Modality Lead Manager and Superintendent Radiographers in ensuring that effective systems of communication are in place and utilised.
- To liaise with and maintain close working relationships with other staff within the Radiology Department and also with other hospital staff groups as appropriate.

- HCPC registration
- IV cannulution trained certificate

Job summary

Main duties of the job
It is essential that you are a good communicator and team player, enthusiastic and driven. Previous CT and/or MRI experience is essential. The successful candidate will participate in on call and the out of hours service and will be expected to work across site. There is a shift system in place between the hours of 8am and 8pm.

We have a radiographer ledMRcardiac service at the Glenfield Hospital (GH), a radiographer led CT colon service at the Leicester General Hospital (LGH) and a new Emergency Department (ED) at the Leicester Royal Infirmary (LRI) which includes two CT scanners. We are also involved in a leading forensic and post mortem CT service at the LRI, which recently received SOR team of the year 2018.
GH has 3 MRI and 2 CT scanners with a 4thMRI planned for September 2020 which will involve new Cardiac research work. The LGH has 2 MRI and 2 CT scanners and the LRI has 3 MRI and 5 CT scanners. Staff also have the opportunity to work at the National Centre for Sports and Exercise Medicine at Loughborough University which has a state of the art, purpose built MRI unit.
