      General Description:

      The CCES and CCMS Yearbook Advisor is responsible for leading the Middle School yearbook elective class and independently producing the Elementary School yearbook. This role involves guiding middle school learners through the full yearbook production process while personally managing all aspects of the elementary yearbook. This role also includes supporting broader yearbook operations in collaboration with the lead advisor, especially in communication, event photography, and planning.


      Key Responsibilities:

      Middle School Yearbook (Elective Class):

      · Teach and guide the middle school yearbook elective class in developing the annual yearbook, covering theme development, photography, design, writing, and editing.

      · Instruct learners in basic journalism and publishing using a digital yearbook platform (Jostens).

      · Keep the class on track with production deadlines and page submissions.

      · Encourage learner creativity, responsibility, and collaboration.


      Elementary School Yearbook (Independent Production):

      · Independently manage and produce the elementary yearbook, including content collection, layout design, photo editing, and page submission.

      · Coordinate with elementary staff to ensure inclusive and accurate coverage of learners and events.

      Additional Yearbook Team Responsibilities:

      · Assist in organizing and scheduling all school portraits and sports team portraits, including coordination with photographers and school staff.

      · Support communication with families regarding yearbook, portrait days, and yearbook 8th grade ad campaigns.

      · Help photograph various school events and local athletic games (some after-school travel required).

      · Assist with taking and editing sports team portraits for the yearbook and distribution.

      Serve as a flexible team member who can assist with yearbook-related logistics and needs throughout the year.

      Requirements

      · Excellent proof reading and correction skills in your own work and others’.

      · Excellent and timely communication skills.

      · Ability to meet deadlines and perform well in potentially tight time constraints.

      · Maintain a high level of privacy when working with confidential learner information.

      · A love for learners and a desire to assist them in their personal, educational, and spiritual development.


      Qualifications:

      · Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills.

      · Photography and photo editing experience is a plus.

      · Comfortable working both independently and as part of a collaborative team.

      · Willingness to attend after-school events for photography coverage.


      Education and Experience

      · Minimum of 2-3 years photography experience with knowledge and understanding of advanced camera systems

      · Yearbook experience, preferred

      · Experience working with students in a classroom or extracurricular setting, preferred

      · Experience with yearbook publishing software or similar design platforms, preferred

      Physical Requirements:

      · Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

      · Must be able to lift 20 pounds at times.


      Classification:

      · FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

      · Pay Grade: CCS Pay Grade 4
