      Job Goal: To provide our students with the knowledge, skills and attitudes to become life-long learners and responsible citizens by: Assisting in providing quality child care in a nurturing, safe environment using developmentally appropriate curriculum.

      Minimum Qualifications:

      • High School Diploma or equivalent
      • AA degree or, 60 semester hours from accredited university, or satisfactory results on an AZ state-approved competency exam
      • Ability to operate standard office equipment including computer and related software
      • Satisfactory criminal background check

      Core Job Functions:

      • Supervising children in the child development program including play periods, lunch periods, field trips, assemblies and emergency drills
      • Preparing lesson plans and instructing children with age appropriate curriculum
      • Translating, when required, (both oral and written) for parents, students, staff and others
      • Developing and creating bulletin boards, signs, borders and classroom displays
      • Assisting students with various physical, emotional and educational needs
      • Assisting with assessments, grading papers and completing records under the supervision of the supervisor/teacher
      • Alerting the director/supervisor to any problem or special information about a student
      • Communicating with parents on student's progress, issues and outcomes
      • Maintaining the confidentiality of protected student and staff member information even after no longer employed
      • Being flexible and performing other duties relating to general job function as assigned by supervisor
      • Operate and care for equipment used for instructional purposes
      • Follow district policies as outlined
      • Perform all duties in a safe and prudent manner as directed by supervisors
