      POSITION OBJECTIVE:

      This position is responsible for teaching a career and technical education program that meets the Washington State Frameworks and Bellevue School District approved guidelines. The Career and Technical Education teacher will work with departments and schools within the district.

      DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: (These duties are a representative sample; position assignments may vary.)


      • Incorporate relevant, rigorous and challenging learning activities in daily lessons.
      • Teach courses consistent with scope and sequence of the OSPI approved curriculum framework.
      • Develop and carry out meaningful, relevant learning experiences for a widely diverse group of high school students
      • Participate in the development of articulated competencies with post-secondary institutions within the Washington Network for Innovative Careers to promote post-secondary opportunities for students.
      • Manage and advise appropriate recognized leadership groups and incorporate student leadership activities into the total curriculum.
      • Work closely with business, industry, and community leaders to provide relevant, meaningful internships experiences for students and actively participate in the program advisory committee.
      • Assume any other reasonable tasks assigned by the building/District administration pertaining to the operation of the school.

      REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:

      • Reports directly to and is supervised by the Building Administrator


      LICENSING REQUIREMENTS (positions in this class typically require):

      Required:
      • Possess State of Washington Career and Technical Education Initial or Continuing Certificate with the following V code: 460200.

      Preferred:
      • Washington State teaching certificate with multiple endorsements.

      • Ability to implement current learning theories in technology education;
      • Ability to adapt teaching style and materials to meet individual student needs;
      • Ability to maintain good working relationships with all staff, students, parents, and community members;
      • Ability to organize, maintain, and manage a clean and safe laboratory class setting;
      • Ability to perform all duties in accordance with applicable Board policies and district and legal requirements;
      • Ability to meet and maintain punctuality and attendance expectations.

      PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:


      Positions in this class typically require: stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, finger dexterity, grasping, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions. This position may be exposed to prolonged exposure to visual display terminals as required.

      Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
      Incumbents may be subjected to moving mechanical parts, odors, chemicals, extreme temperatures, inadequate lighting, workspace restrictions, and intense noises.

      CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:


      1.0 CTE Construction Trades Teacher at Interlake High School: Must have Initial or Continuing CTE Certification with the following v code: V460200.


      $ 72,270 to $ 135,542 annual salary (based on the negotiated collective bargaining agreement salary schedule). Certificated staff work the school year contract with placement on the District and BEA bargaining agreement salary schedule. Placement on the schedule is determined by training and experience.

      Medical, dental, vision, long-term disability, and life-insurance eligibility is based upon .45 FTE. Retirement provided through Washington State Department of Retirement Systems.
