- Provide daily Production Records at breakfast, lunch, supper, and snack to all public and private school accounts
- Complete delivery sheets for DC Public Schools (DCPS) and all private school meals account five days prior to menu/ delivery date
- Ensure all delivery sheets are cross-referenced to the meal projection amount for accuracy
- Provide printed delivery tickets sheets to each route driver
- Assist in expediting meals from the production kitchen to appropriate client checking for accuracy of product amounts and type
- Manage Kitchen Production (Nutrition Lab) Emails regarding issues at DCPS or private schools, reply to all emails in timely manner and find resolution
- Track Issues in Appian and update with resolution.
- Maintain updated menus in kitchen, keep up with any substitutions or menu changes.
- Alert team to any critical items that need to be sent by way of emails, action memos or post to emergency board
- Ensure each location is on menu and appropriate amounts are provided to each client
- Perform other duties and tasks as required to maintain quality relationships with all our partners and / or duties and tasks needed to drive the vision, mission, and values of DC Central Kitchen.
- Bachelors’ degree and 1 – 2 years of related experience OR equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- Advanced computer skills to include use of Outlook, Word, and advanced functions in Excel
- Ability to focus on a computer for extended periods of time
- Demonstrated cultural competence and a commitment to the mission and values of DC Central Kitchen
- Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
- Great customer service skills and highly responsive to inquiries via email and phone
- Highly organized and capable of multi-tasking while maintaining strong attention to detail
- Ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure
- Current ServSafe® certification
- Understanding of HAACP
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. walking, standing, bending for extended periods
- Pre-employment drug screen, background check, and TB Test are required. Evidence of COVID Vaccination and two sources of confirmation are required.
- Must be capable of independent local travel
- Must be able to work occasional nights and weekends
- May occasionally move Audio/Visual and other office equipment or lightweight items weighing up to 30 pounds for various meeting and event needs; Some functions of this position may require moderate physical activity, including transporting, positioning, installing, or removing office equipment items, such as printers, computers, phones, and so on
- Will occasionally move about inside the office and commercial kitchen space to access supplies, materials, file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
- Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer; constantly positions self to access and maintain computer equipment; and must be able to remain in a stationery position for at least 50% of the time.
- Must be able to work in an environment where exposure to unusual elements such as extreme temperatures, fumes, dirt, smoke, loud noise, and a variety of odors is common

DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION:
The Culinary Operations department is responsible for all food production of DC Central Kitchen’s School Foods and Community Meals Program. This department is responsible in ensuring all meals produced are compliant with relevant federal, state, and local policies, and established protocols and procedures are achieved. In addition, the Culinary Operations department facilitates effective business relationships with clients; and drives value through efficient customer service for contract meal programs including: CACFP, School Foods, and Community meals. This department includes our School Foods program, which provides scratch-cooked, locally sourced nutritious meals to students at multiple schools throughout Washington, D.C., and our Community Meals program, which ensures the efficient preparation and distribution of healthy meals to partner agencies.
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
DC Central Kitchen (DCCK) provides cooked from scratch, locally sourced nutritious meals to students at over 18 schools throughout Washington DC. The Culinary Operations Coordinator will perform a critical role in ensuring that program goals are successfully achieved. This position will offer administrative, operational, and logistical support to the Production Manager and culinary operations team. The Coordinator will make certain all administrative responsibilities are completed with accuracy and issues are effectively communicated to appropriate team members and outside clients.
