      Description

      Strategic Imperative:

      Mathnasium enables franchisee success across the world by developing curriculum and teaching methods that support student learning using the Mathnasium Method. Mathnasium curriculum developers create and maintain the proprietary Mathnasium curriculum. They ensure our material is consistent with our method. This method is our competitive advantage. As a result, the role is integral to the strategy of Mathnasium’s endeavors in worldwide markets.

      Primary Objectives:

      • Create new curriculum as outlined by the VP of Education and Training
        • Maintain, update, or convert existing curriculum as required.
        • Ensure the curriculum is developed or updated without errors, with professional presentation, and is properly reviewed before release.
        • Coordinate and consult on localization and translation of International curriculum as applicable to enable expansion into countries around the globe.
        • Assist in the development of new Assessments and the creation of applicable material.
        • Assist with the creation and implementation of training all appropriate stakeholders in Right Materials (what we teach) and Right Instruction (how we teach it). This may include:
          • Creation of new education training materials
          • Facilitation of in-person and remote training sessions
          • Support the franchise train-the-trainer model by educating field operations – training and support teams – in the systems they are implementing.

      Essential Job Functions:

      • Researches and evaluates mathematics content standards to ensure the content created is developmentally appropriate.
      • Creates high-quality mathematics curriculum in alignment with the Mathnasium Method.
      • Supports the general maintenance and upkeep of our curriculum library, including corrections and evaluating suggestions from the field.
      • Stays apprised of trends in mathematics education.
      • Works with various SMEs and other stakeholders at the Mathnasium Home Office to review content related to our curriculum and instruction.
      • Trains internal and external personnel on Mathnasium’s curriculum and instruction.
      • Presents new concepts and ideas; assist with piloting new content.
      • Revises and updates online training content and training paths to reflect education system changes.
      • Identifies opportunities for improvement, and shares recommendations appropriately.
      • Supports all Education Department initiatives and completes other projects as assigned by the VP of Education and Training

      Examples of Key Projects/Goals:

      The Curriculum Developer will play a key role in the development of industry-leading K-12 mathematics content, including the build-out of our enrichment library to help our existing and prospective students develop higher-order thinking skills in our centers.

      Required Qualifications:

      • Bachelor’s Degree in Math Education, Math, or other STEM major
      • Strong computer skills
      • Ability to work independently
      • Strong organizational skills

      Preferred Skills:

      • Experience with mathematics curriculum and instruction
      • Experience with Mathnasium curriculum
      • Experience as a classroom teacher
      • Experience with InDesign
