Grade 3 of the ESP Salary Scale
8 Hours/Day, 12-Month Work Year, 2nd Shift
Reports to Facilities Operations Manager
Minimum Requirements
High School Diploma/GED or has any combination of education, training, or experience that would qualify the candidate to successfully perform in the position.
Capable of climbing stairs, ladders, etc., carrying reasonable loads, shoveling snow, operating gas powered equipment, and other manual tasks as required to maintain the buildings in first-class condition.
Ability to follow oral or simple written instructions.
Willingness to participate in in-service training programs.
Regular and predictable attendance which is an essential function of this position.
Ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations.
Preferred Qualifications
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work harmoniously with staff, students, and community.
Previous experience in commercial cleaning and mechanical/carpentry work.
Role Responsibilities
Perform operations as scrubbing, mopping, sweeping, waxing, dusting, etc., involved in the cleaning of school buildings by using hand or mechanical cleaning tools.
Provide a presence to protect school against fire, discourage theft, and/or damage by trespassers.
Care for and/or checks (as required in the site schedule) the heating/air conditioning system whether it is low pressure, steam, hot air, electric, or oil fired system.
Assist with and/or make minor emergency repairs.
Clean and care for the grounds.
Keep work records and inventory of custodial equipment and supplies, and order supplies when necessary.
Demonstrate courteous and professional demeanor to all stakeholders of Washington County Public Schools.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Will be subjected to loud noises, dusts, fumes, and hot and cold outdoor temperatures.
