Title of Position: Custodian – High School
Hours: 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM
Description of Duties:
Performs building cleaning, grounds maintenance and semi-skilled maintenance tasks. Repairs furniture, makes minor plumbing, masonry, electrical and carpentry repairs. Operates trucks, automobiles, air compressors and other motorized equipment. Assists in loading and unloading vehicles and distribution of materials.
Requirements:
Successful passing of Custodian Civil Service exam.
Neat clean appearance, punctual, ability to get along with professional and supportive staff, possess appropriate driver’s license. Employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 lbs, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. and occasionally lift and /or move more than 100 lbs. Frequently required to walk, sit, reach with hands and arms. Occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Knowledge of some mechanical equipment is required. A valid NYS drivers license is necessary.
