- Ensure communication signals are properly distributed
- Deliver critical information where it’s needed
- Demanding, fast-paced work that saves lives using a PC-based call handling system.
- Triage a variety of incoming calls, ranging from routine to emergent and inter-office calls.
- Responsible for dispatching staff and security to medical and non-medical emergencies.
- Provide medical messaging services to CentraCare employees, medical staff and clinics.
- Receives and process calls as a backup to the Patient Transfer Line
- Manage the primary switchboard duties for CentraCare.
- Schedule interpreter services located at St. Cloud Hospital.
- Work closely with providers, nursing staff, administration, patients, and community.
- Supports and implements patient safety and other safety practices as appropriate.
- Demonstrate family-centered care principles when interacting with patients, and co-workers.
- Emergency communication coordinator.
- Initiate emergency plans using specified procedures for all codes and alerts
- Receive calls from the public, employees, and other emergency agencies
- Facilitate transfers in and out of CentraCare facilities from referring hospitals
- STEMI (heart attack) coordinator for patients being transferred to St. Cloud Hospital
- Handle telehealth calls
- Back-up to all requesting departments when not available (Hospitalist, IS Help Desk and Echo)
- Responsible for transferring calls coming into CentraCare facilities
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Ability to respond to emergency situations in a calm and controlled manner
- 2 years of work experience or an associate degree in a related field required
- Exceptional organizational, communication, and customer service skills
- Experience with general computers and Microsoft Office
- Effective communication techniques, audio communication and computerized systems
- Emergency Medical Call Center and/or dispatching experience preferred
- Critical thinking skills along with previous experience in operation of PC phone
- Typing skill of 40 wpm along with general computer and Microsoft Office experience
- Able to work under pressure, multi-task, maintain confidential information and work well in a fast paced work environment
- Previous experience using a PC based phone system preferred.
- Medical Terminology Course completion, prior to hire or within 30 days of hire
- Pay starting at $17.57+ per hour and up based on experience.

Location: St. Cloud – CentraCare Plaza | After initial training on site, you will have the opportunity to work some of your shifts from home.
Schedule: Full-Time - Eve shifts, 4pm-12:30AM Monday through Friday working every other weekend.
