      QUALIFICATIONS:

      • High school diploma or equivalent with one (1) year of experience in a similar position required.
      • Computer skills and knowledge of other general office equipment is required.
      • Must pass a Customer Service Representative test, including keyboarding, computer fluency and basic mathematics.
      • Must be able to deal with customers and other employees in a courteous and efficient manner.
      • Must work extended business hours, selected holidays and overtime as required.
      • Must successfully complete the AES Indiana Customer Service Training program.
      • Additional consideration will be given for any experience or training contributing to the applicant's ability to perform the job.

      FUNCTION:

      Handles routine customer account and credit inquiries by telephone in a courteous and efficient manner. Performs duties intended to assure customer satisfaction and accuracy of customer accounts. Within well established guidelines handles a variety of credit transactions, processes customer payments, provides extensions and/or makes payment arrangements in accordance with Company policy.

      Performs other duties which may be requested by authorized personnel.

      SUMMARY:

      The AES Indiana Customer Service Center is a fast-paced inbound Call Center. Successful candidate will take calls from customers who have questions about their electric bill, service, and payment arrangements (including extensions) accurately and within established Company guidelines.

      DURING TRAINING:

      Must be available to work 40 hours per week throughout the 4-week training period. Training will be IN PERSON. Punctual, 100% mandatory attendance is required.

      Work Location: In person for training and/or other required continued training or meetings
