What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Respond to patient and guarantor inquiries regarding billing issues, including payer denials and demographic verification
- Provide professional account review, analysis, and resolution of patient inquiries, aiming for first-call resolution
- Document all patient interactions and account actions in the billing systems to maintain an accurate audit trail
- Handle communications via various channels including phone, email, and secure messaging
- Maintain a high standard of customer service by addressing concerns with empathy and professionalism
What is Required (Qualifications):
- High School diploma or GED equivalent required
- 1-3 years of relevant experience in customer service or collections within a healthcare setting strongly preferred
- Effective communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills required
- Knowledge of Epic billing systems preferred
- Ability to consistently manage a high volume of calls while resolving issues efficiently
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Associate's Degree preferred
- Familiarity with medical terminology and liability claims
- Experience with credit and collections policies in a healthcare environment
- Proven track record of achieving high-quality assurance review scores
- Ability to work independently and self-motivate
