Job Description
- Req#: CUSTO001883
- Receive orders from customers via email.
- Process customer orders which includes checking available inventory and future scheduling, quality, specifications matching, insuring most economical shipping method, and entry into open order system and inventory system.
- Schedule or coordinate freight arrangements to meet customer requirements.
- Follows up on delayed shipments to expedite material availability and to keep customer informed.
- Handles customer inquiries on order status and directs other inquiries to the appropriate personnel.
- Maintains and updates files and records which includes price lists, price deviations, product inventory, customer sales records and history, customer open order status, and ship logs.
- Provides supervisor, manufacturing manager, sales manager, and salesmen with current product requirements and availability.
- Contracts credit dept. for credit approval of shipments as appropriate.
- Coordinates customer returns with appropriate personnel and customers.
- Investigates and performs credit/debit/return transactions according to department procedures.
- Issues order acknowledgments.
- Record-keeping of order-specific communication within sales orders attachements
- Other duties as assigned.
