      Job Description

      JOB SCOPE:
      The Hardlines Merchandiser is responsible for visual merchandising and presentation standards throughout all hardlines departments.

      JOB SUMMARY:
      The Hardlines Merchandiser plays a crucial role in delivering exceptional customer service and crafting captivating feature displays to optimize revenue. Leveraging visual merchandising techniques, they stimulate sales and uphold unit integrity and pricing accuracy to minimize wastage. Their responsibilities also include efficient ordering to capitalize on sales opportunities and providing training and guidance to team members.

      Responsibilities/Skills/Experience Requirements

      JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

      • Engages customers with a welcoming, and assisting approach; takes the customer to the merchandise and handles customer needs while escalating issues to management when necessary
      • Maintains and replenishes promotional programs and advertisements
      • Supports the Reset team in completing departmental resets
      • Creates end cap and drive aisle display and ensures proper signage and presentation
      • Assists in adhering to pricing, signage, and display guidelines established by the company
      • Executes departmental upkeep including cleaning, maintenance of displays, planogram accuracy, and handling expired products according to procedures
      • Processes inbound freight, excess merchandise, and displays according to company standards
      • Understands product assortments, store layout, services, merchandise locations, marketing events and promotions
      • Demonstrates effective suggestive selling techniques and encourages the use of SYWR (Shop Your Way Rewards), credit cards, Smart Plans, and Replacement Plans
      • Operates equipment safely and adheres to company safety protocols
      • Performs other duties as assigned

      JOB REQUIREMENTS:
      16 years of age or older

      REQUIRED SKILLS:
      • Strong reading, writing, verbal, and arithmetic skills
      • Ability to lift and move merchandise, typically a minimum of 20lbs., but could be as much as 100lbs
      • Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions
      • Repetitive bending, lifting, stretching and reaching
      • Positive and friendly demeanor
      • Ability to be cross trained
