      • Job Type: Permanent
      • Hours : 37.5 per week
      • Job Location : Shepton Mallet
      • Salary: Up to £25k - Potential to earn overtime

      Ability to commute/relocate: Office based role, must be able to reliably commute to Shepton Mallet or plan to relocating before starting work (required)

      Main Responsibilities:

      • Ensure correct and timely filing of customs and related declarations in accordance with the UK’s customs system.
      • Make a key contribution to SGS customs brokerage service, working with colleagues to ensure accuracy, compliance and customer satisfaction within the parameters of all relevant legislation.
      • Provide support to customs specialists.
      • Support colleagues making declarations of imports and exports to and from the UK.

      Key Accountabilities;

      • Make accurate and time efficient declarations.
      • Ensuring accurate relay of information consistent with client profile, checking. with client/colleagues when necessary to ensure compliance with relevant customs legislation.
      • Provide a polite and prompt response to all customer queries to maintain excellent levels of customer satisfaction.
      • Use SGS inhouse software, GTA, to make declarations.
      • Maintaining a high standard of administration and record keeping ensuring smooth processing of all applications.
      • Ensuring clients experience is of the highest customer excellence standards to achieve client retention, escalating issues where appropriate.
      • Ensure knowledge of customs practices and standards are maintained inline with current legislation/regulation, through continuous professional development.

      How to be a successful candidate:

      To be a successful candidate we are looking for someone who has English Language and Mathematics GCSE Level or equivalent (grades A* to C) or Education to ‘A’ level standard or equivalent. It would be nice to have Trade-related qualification (e.g: UK Customs Academy/BCC/BIFA) or Recognized trade-related membership (e.g: Institute of Export)

      It is essential to have experience in entering data sets in software systems and Customer service experience. We also accept candidates who have experience in direct international trade or a related industry such as freight forwarding or customs brokerage
